Birthday Wish, Basic Grey Joy

Can you tell what came in the mail yesterday? That's right, my new Basic Grey 6x6 pads! I know I say every time I get new BG papers that's it the best, but I really think these are! I got both new pads with my EBay GC and I'm so thankful that I did. These cards were made using two pieces of the new paper and my ever faithful SU girl in the field stamp. The HB is from Verve. I've just added these new cards to my eBay store. If your in the need for more cards, hurry on over because they won't last long!
I can't believe it's almost New Year's Eve. Where has the year gone? Last year at this time I keep saying that the new year would bring great change and lots of new jobs, and that Barry would be just fine. Flash one year forward, no new jobs and everything isn't fine. I had such high hopes for this year and the only thing that's remained the same is the time the bill collectors call! They never give up! I'm sure I'll keep hearing from them for some time. If only one of us had a job. I keep sending out resumes and NOTHING. All I want is a job that I don't have to stand on my feet for 8 hours. They just won't hold me anymore. I die when I come home from Sam's! I keep trying to figure out a way to make a living with the card business, but that's been a victim of the economy too. Oh well, so much for my feeling sorry for my self!
Barry is at school still working on studying for his test. It's a never ending thing. He is talking about when to take the first real test. Every time I ask about if he's checked, I get either the look or the lecture that I'm pushing him!!!!!!!!!! IF ONLY I had a bridge, he's see real pushing!!
Be sure to check out some of the blogs I follow. I've added a bunch of new one's where I think you'll find some great idea's!
Well, I gotta run and get something done today. Have a wonderful day. Stay warm and dry!
Hugs,
P

A Simpley Beautiful Card

Sometimes you just need a sympathy card. It's not one we usually keep on hand, but you never know. Last year in Barry's office, when he was working, I needed to make 3 or 4 in a short period of time, so I know that it's good to have a few on hand. I made this one last weekend and it's for sale in my ebay store. I love the way it turned out. I used my new Label 8 set and pretty, pretty papers that Pat sent me. The stamps are from SU as well. It's hard to see, but there's copper brads in the center of the flowers.
We're suppose to be getting some snow this afternoon. Just want we need. More cold weather. Oh well, the kids enjoy it. It's just a mess to drive on. That's why I'm going to get dressed soon and run to get a few things at the store. I didn't end up doing it yesterday. I was busy working on my project for the BLOG HOP on Jan 5. It's going to be very special to see some of the newest images from Whimsie Doodle Designers, so please mark your calendar's to come back and visit. There will be prizes galore!
Have a great day and hurry back,
Hugs,
P

Check Out My New Toys!

I know, you don't see anything too exciting, but look again---new Spellbinder Nestties! Label 8! These are the one's I bought with my gift card to ebay. I'm trying to stock up my card stash in my ebay store, so I made this one yesterday. The tree is one of my favorite stamps from SU. I loved it so much, I ended up buying the set from my GF. I've been digging in my pile of "stuff" again for this card. The paper is BG and the buttons are from the huge button pile. It's funny how many buttons I've used in the last six months on cards now that I have all my buttons right near my work area. They always seem to fill those odd blank spaces left on cards.
Today Barry went back to school. Hopefully he'll be there all day or at least a good part of the day. I'm getting ready to do all the things that didn't get done over the weekend. We're suppose to get some more bad weather tomorrow afternoon, so I think I have to do a little stocking up. Glue, pop dots, paper. How bad would it be if I ran out of those things and couldn't get to the store this week to get them?????
I'm off now, so have a great day. I'm busy working on new things for the design team, so keep coming back to see what's new after the first of the year. Exciting new images and stamps will be coming your way!
Have a great day!
Hugs,
P

Happy Sunday Morning

There is no better way to wake up on a Sunday morning then to have the sun shinning in your home. I always think that the day is going to perfect when it starts out like that. If nothing else, I am always trying to start the day on an upbeat note. What follows, I can't control, but when I open my eyes I can!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Santa was good to them. I can't wait to hear about what new toys you all got. It's so fun to live your joy with you. Santa didn't leave anything at our house this year. Oh yea, he never leaves anything. We're Jewish! However, I did get some new goodies in the mail from my Hanukkah gifts! One of the gifts I got received this year was a gift card for eBay and I used it this past week to buy Label Eight set of Nestties! They came yesterday and I broke them open right away. I got a great deal on them with free shipping and now I have them. One of the set is the same size as the SU die, but I got 5 sizes for less then the one SU sells. I am, a happy camper!
I made a few cards in the last two days. This card is one. She's made using a MFT stamp and some pretty papers I found at J's on sale. I am so ready for Spring colors! No more red and greens for me.
Today is another lazy day at the Bloom Zoo. Barry is going to study some more and I'm going to create some more. At least I'll try. I want all my cards to be fun cards, so that's my goal today. What's yours?
Have a great week and hurry back soon!

Turning The Page

It's time to move on from Christmas cards! I've made up my mind! I am going to put away the holiday cards that didn't sell for next year and the Christmas stamps are being packed up. It's time to move on to the next holiday! I've been busy making cards this week for the new design team. I wish I could share them with you. They are so, so cute! I know you'll want to grab up the digi stamps on January 5.
Today's card is made using Stampin Up stamps and paper. I love this Bella paper. I wish I had another package hidden in my stash. If you have some and don't want it any longer, you can send it my way! I've used it for everything from Valentine's Day to birthday cards. I think it's the green that I like so much. I'm a green person. You can't tell in the card, but the heart was stamped twice and then popped up on dots. I'm using some more of the "lace" binding tape but this time in a tea dyed look. The best part---it comes in lots of colors and it's cheap!
Today is the last day for Barry to have school this week. He doesn't go back until Monday! I may run away from home before then. He did promise to continue to study at home. That's great except we only have one computer, so if you don't see me for days, you'll know why!
Have a wonderful day and stay warm and dry!
Hugs!

Just a Quick Post Today

I want to sing Love Boat when I see this card. I know it's a Lovebug, the song keeps running around in my head! Now, you too will be singing the song all day! My job is done!!
Don't you love the little bug? It's a digi stamp from Inktegrity Designs. I just was so tried of holiday cards that I had to find another holiday to work on. Notice the mat behind the image? I had a small piece of black and wanted to add this to the card somehow. I laid the black over the top before I ran it in the Cuttlebug-double color mat! The plaid is DCVW and the dot is left over from Halloween.
Today I'm still lazy. I can't seem to get in the creating mood this week. I did a few cards for the new DT, but I can't show you those until Jan, so you'll just have to come back. I'm meeting up with Evan today and bringing him lunch. I made a favorite of his last night for dinner, but he had to work late. I offered to take it to his home and leave for him for today, but he called last night and asked if I'd bring it for lunch. So like a good Mom, off I go! Larry called last night too, and asked it I wanted to go to the movies with him and Madelyn. I passed on that one. I am so lucky to have my son's around. They are my real blessings!
Well, I'm off to do who-knows-what! Have a good day and stay safe!

Coffee Can Rule The World

Do you see yourself in this card? I don't know how people say "they don't drink coffee". It's like a life force! I NEED MY MORNING COFFEE! It's hard to tell but this alter me has her slippers and coffee cup cut out and popped up of dots! The stamps are from Whipper Snapper and the paper is SU.
Yesterday was a nice quite day at the Bloom's. We didn't even get out of our PJ's! Barry did take a shower, but then got back into clean one's! I spent the better part of two hours last night trying to recover some lost images. I don't know how it happened. I was trying to delete one thing and then they all were gone! Most were digi stamps. No fun doing that, but I was able to recover most of them. A few are gone like the wind, I guess. At least I still have most of my Pure Innocence girls.
Today I'm suppose to be cleaning up. I mean me and the house. I really need to take a shower and wash my hair. I have to have Barry take a picture of me for my bio for the new DT. Hey, I'm moving a little slow this morning, but I'm at least moving. That is a plus! Barry let me sleep in this morning. I usually get up and make him breakfast before school, but he knew I was beat and just kissed me good bye. I was gone in a second!
I have about a dozen Christmas cards left in my eBay store right now and I've told Barry if he wants to give any out at school, feel free. I didn't sent too many this year. I just didn't want to spend the money on stamps. I guess that makes me cheap, but cheap I've become. It's almost my middle name.
I'm trying to redo the look of my blog, so bear with me while I do this. Have a great day and hurry back. Thank you all for leaving comments. They make me feel so loved!
Hugs,
P

Don't Worry, Bee Happy!

Being on the short end of money certainly can make you take a look at the pile of stamps you have growing in every direction! I've has this stamp for a while and I swear I've only used maybe used once or twice, but I really think it's cute, so I pulled it out (OK, it fell out) of the pile and found some pieces of scrap paper and off I went to work! It's hard to time, but the bee's are full of glitter. I love Glitter Glue! I have tons of colors but only seem to work with the white shades. The color of the image shows that way.
I've been busy for the last hour or so, more the so, adding all the names to blog for the other members of the Doodlelicious Design Team. Thanks to Nikki Tanner, I'm in like Flint! I'm a little slow when it comes to working with computers, but I learn fast! I even got into the DT Blog.
Today we have no plans. I just need to run to the post office and mail off a few things, then maybe hit HL for some ink. My pad is dry and I'm out of refill ink. Not the best way to stamp so I think I'll work on some digi images instead. Isn't' that the best thing when you need a new "fix" of stamps? I love the instant of having the digi's!
I do have some bad news to report. My DIL was laid off yesterday. She's been at her job for 6 years and weathered some other lay offs, but this one got her. She did get a nice package, but still the week before Christmas is just plain mean! Don't eat Pizza Hut this holiday season!!
Have a great weekend. If you're getting some really, really bad snow, ENJOY!
Hugs!

Blue Bird of Happiness!

These darling little images called Pure Innocence seem to be my "go to" things this week. They are simple and easy on the eye. What's more, they tug on your heart. I saw a similar layout on the worldwide blog land and changed the stamps and verse to make it my own. Layout can be your best friend when you're lost and can't find your MOJO! The paper is Basic Grey, except the red plaid. It's a scarp of something I found on my desk. Who knows?!~ The verse is SU. You know, another stamp that says "bloom"!
Well, it's official. The Whimsie Doodle blog has added the new designer names to their site. Now if I could get my computer to stop acting up, I could add them too! They are some great designers so please check them all out when I get it going!
What's up with you this weekend? Last minute shopping? A nice trip to visit friends or family? We've got no plans for the weekend or any day in the near future I can think of. Barry goes to school and I work at home. Barry comes home and works and I try to stay out of his way. Great LIFE!
I'm trying to finish up the wash so I don't have to do it over the weekend and I've put up two loads in the dish wisher already today. I didn't have any more room in the first, so up it went, and then when I added the pots to the second, I thought I'd do it now and have everything clean. Of course clean is good!
I know, my life is a bit boring, but at 60 I don't want to get too excited!!
Have a great weekend and stay warm!
Love and Hugs

Out of This World!

Isn't he cute? What would you do if your daughter brought him home to you????? I was at M's yesterday spending my gift card Larry and Family gave me for Hanukkah this year. I also took my 40% off coupon and came home with some fun things. I bought a new Martha punch. I've been wanting the butterfly and she came home, and I bought this fun set of space people. They even had some matching papers. I wanted to do the SCS layout for yesterday, but the only problem was you can't see much of the printed papers. I added the stripe down the front lining up as much of the print as I could. It's really, really cute in person. I added lots of glitter, of course!
Barry has been coming home at lunch time each day this week to study at home. He's doing pretty good. I just wish he had a little confidants in himself. I know that it's been such a hard year for him, but anything I say, just seems to rub him the wrong way. Yesterday he got an 96 on a study test. I said what a great job, and of course, he said it wasn't good enough!! You only have to get an 80 on the TEST! He's driving me to my breaking point very soon. I told him yesterday that my mental state is shaky at best. Can you guess what his reply was? All about him of course. It's always, all about him. We are spending way too much time together this week!
Today is CCA day. The people are so kind and you really do see all types of people there. I saw a very nice lady every week shopping at the same time. Last week I parked next to her. I didn't know it was her car until we left together and it was a Lexis. She laughed and said she didn't always need help! I guess that's the way much people think. What happened to us? I know I feel like I've fallen such a long way down and I don't know if we'll ever be able to get up again. So if you get a chance to help someone, please do. That is my thought for the day!!
Hugs,
P

Sittin' On Top Of The World

OK, so maybe I'm not really sitting on top of the world, but I did have some good news yesterday and it made me feel a lot better about my work! I applied for a design team position with Whimsie Doodle! http://www.whimsiedoodles.com/index.html. They are a great digi stamp company and I am so honored to have been chosen to join them!! More to follow!
I chose to make a card using the layout challenge from SCS today. I really liked it and it was simple to follow. The paper is from BG. Some of these 6x6 pads never die! The cupcake is colored with Copic markers.
It's really cold this morning in Dallas. We got down to below freezing. It's just so early for us to have all this cold weather. Today is going to warm up to around 50, so that's not bad at all. I have to run to the post office and then do a few errands and before you know it, Barry's back home again! I have to get my computer time in early in the day or I'm lost to it for hours. It's funny how hooked you can become on this darn thing! I need to get a life and soon!
Take care and hugs to all!

Enjoy The Pretty Cards!

Nothing is really new or very interesting today, so I thought I'd share some of the cards I made yesterday. Once I get on a roll, I'm OK, so I better start something this morning before Barry's back home to work on the computer this afternoon. He informed me yesterday that he'll be in school during the morning hours and then working on home computer in the afternoon since the study material can't be transferred to his computer at school. Bummer for me, but maybe it will help him!
Have a great day and stay warm!
Hugs and Love to all!

NO More Leftovers!

I mean designer paper as well as brisket! I don't want to look at another leftover, at least for today! I think it's a pizza night or something I don't have to clean up after! I have a nice frozen pizza and I think with some salad that's the thing!
Mr Santa is on of the last of my holiday cards. He's from an old set of SU stamps and the paper is Basic Grey. I used this layout a lot in the Fall and then forgot about it, but I thought it would be good with the small image I was working with. That's the good part about taking pictures of all your work. You get to see what you've done in the past. Sometimes it works and sometimes not!
Today I'm going to work on some new cards for my eBay store. I'm happy to say that I sold some cards yesterday and now have to restock. I'm trying to make them a little more simple so I can sell them for less, but as usual, my cards just grow! They look naked to me so plain. I love to look at simple cards. They are so pretty, but I can't seem to put down the buttons, brads, and ribbon that grow around me. I need them as much as I need air. It's part of my make-up! It's a good thing there are no right or wrong styles for making cards. Just your own!
Well, I'm off to another cup of coffee while I debate with myself about what to make next. I think some pretty flower cards are in order today. The sun is out and it's 54 right now! I'm going to enjoy the day since cold weather is on it's way back tonight. Oh well, I guess that's winter in the South!
Take care friends and hurry back.
Hugs,

On The Third Night---Leftovers!

Yup, we have a few leftovers from last night to eat tonight. Believe me, the gang did a good job on everything! I made a 6 pound piece of meat, almost 40 potato pancakes, green beans and assorted other items, and they ate most of it!! Dinner was perfect and then we had presents. I didn't expect anything from the kids because they have done so much for us already, but they surprised us with GC from Logan's, Ebay, and Michael's. Evan gave us some fun one's for Jack n' Box and McDonald's! We are truly blessed to have such giving children. I guess we did something right!
Today has been a lazy day. Barry's been napping off and on, more off then on, and I've been making a few cards. Very few! I think I'm done with Christmas. I'm sick of looking at even the papers, let along the stamps! I feel so let down by the sales this year, but I understand it. It just doesn't make it feel any better, so now it's time to move on. 2 out of the 3 cards I made today are digi stamps. Instant gratification at it's best!
Now I'm off to heat up the left overs for dinner. Thank you all for reading my ramblings!
Hugs,
P

On The Second Night of....

Hanukkah, the children are coming to our house! Last night we had Madelyn over and she lite the first candle for us. We gave her a small fun gift. Her own Tea Party set to paint. She flew through that and now I'm the proud owner of parts of the set! She wanted me to have some of the pieces she painted. I got to do the teapot. I added flowers and MB for her name! Now I have to start cooking the dinner feast for the gang. I'm making me famous (if I say so) Sweet n' Sour Brisket, potato pancakes, and green bean casserole! All favorites of the kids. Justin was so sweet yesterday. He came and took his Grandma shopping for the food. I still have a small mess to finish cleaning up near my desk and the kitchen floor NEEDS a wash, but all in good time.
The card I posted today is made using a fun new digi stamp from Whimsie Doodle. I love freebie's and the fact that I can make them what ever size I need. The layout is from SCS with Basic Grey papers.
I'm off to do something today. Barry just left for a Lion's project. They're having the children's film festival this morning. The Lion's Work the door. At least I have peace and quiet for a few hours.
Take care and have a good day. Happy Hanukkah to all my Jewish friends and readers.
Hugs,
P

Another Sweet Girl

I got a new stamp in the mail yesterday and here she is. I love her, but I think I got spoiled using the digi images of this line. You'll never guess why, so I'll just jump right in and tell you. I like the fact that I can re size them to what ever I want them to be! This stamp is a little bigger then I would like, but because it's a stamp, I would have to scan it and then re size the image and it's not worth the trouble. She's cute anyway! I used some papers that I found while cleaning up a path to my desk.
Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah and Madelyn is joining us at our house. Larry's office is having their holiday dinner, so Maddy is visiting us. Tomorrow night the whole gang will be over for dinner. Then we'll have all the goodies they like. At the top of that list is Potato Pancakes. Tina is doing the shopping for tomorrow and I'm doing the cooking. My children are so very good to us. I'm telling you, if I ever win the Lotto, they're getting a good size of the winnings!
Today I've started cleaning up my craft area. It's in the middle of the living room so there's no way to hide it if I leave it a mess (which it is), so I've started picking things up from the floor. I now need to find more boxes to put some of that stuff in! It just seems to have grown, and grown some more!
I think coffee is calling me now. I need the energy! Have a great day and stay warm! I applied for a design team spot and should know by early next week. It's something different and fun. I have my fingers and toes crossed.
Hugs,
Paula

If Wishing Were So

If wishing were so, I'd pick the right numbers for Lotto. If wishing were so, I'd have that dollar to buy that ticket that has the right number on it, but since wishing doesn't seem to make it so, I'd better get my act together today and do something! Oh I've been up for hours and went to the post office and then CCA for my shopping trip, but now the trick is always finding a place to put all the goodies I come home with. You never know what will be on the shelves when you get there. Today was great. I got a chicken, hamburger meat, and even some Raisin Brand for Barry! I can't tell you what a help it's been to be able to go to CCA. They'll be the first people we donate to when Barry's back at work! If you want to give to a charity, and want it to stay in the community, I'd say they are right up at the top of the list.
Now, back to the card I posted. I used a cute image that was given to me and some fun paper I found in the desk stash. You can never go wrong with a Tilda! The little verse is from SU. The plaid is Bo Bunny, and I think the tree's are October something or other!
I lowered the price of my holiday cards on ebay this morning in hopes of moving them out. I'm sick of looking at them in the house, so I thought I'd try and sell them cheap. They are anything but CHEAP looking cards. It's a shame that they aren't selling so much this year. I think they are so pretty. Well, if you need some great cards and you're running out of time, check them out in my ebay store!
I hope everyone has a nice, warm, dry day!
Hugs,
P

I Want More Digi's!

I'm in love with digi images. I know some of the girls get in a huff when they're called digi stamps, so I'll stick I'm with image, but all the same, I love the ease of using them! Now comes the hard part. I found a link over at SCS and didn't bookmark it! If you read my blog and know where this image came from, please leave the link! I downloaded it and thought I have saved where it came from, but you know how that is---old timers again! I colored her with my Copic markers and then used some Bo Bunny snowflake paper for the background. I didn't think she needed too much extra. I did punch out a few Martha flakes. Aren't those punches the best? Even the little verse came with the digi!
Barry came home early from school yesterday and took me for a ride to find pop dots! All the Michael's in our area were out of them this weekend. It seems they were all waiting for a shipment that might or might now come. The store that's near my home never got theirs, nor did the next closest. They found on their computer that a store right near where Barry goes to school had 3 packages, but when we got there they had 9! NO, I didn't buy 9, only 3, so now I have enough dots to last until at least Valentine's Day!
It's very cold today in Dallas. With the wind chill it's not getting much out of the 30's, so I'll be staying at home and doing a little cleaning today. Ok, maybe a VERY little, but I do have to find the bottom of my desk some time, and then maybe I'll be able to work a little better!
Have a great day and hurry back!
Hugs,
P

By Golly, It's Monday

I made it through the weekend and I'm here to tell about it! Ok, so there's not much to tell, but I made it anyway! We laid low yesterday. I needed a few things at WalMart, so we went there first thing and then it was the wash, wash, and some more wash. I finished it up this morning! I had a busy morning. I was up bright and early, well, maybe not so bright since the sun is hiding, but early and got the dishes finished from last night, the wash from yesterday done, and I got more cards made! This is one of those. I love these little Pure Innocence girls. They are so sweet. I pulled out some more of the designer papers that Pat sent and made this card. I saw this layout on some blog and loved it and the color combo came from another card I saw on a blog. I don't know what happened in the picture, but it's not really as dark as it looks. It's a nice Camel Hair coat with matching boots!
Nothing else is new with me today. Barry is at school and I'm hoping he stays there all day. Night would work for me. I do have to figure out what I'm going to make for dinner. I think Hot Dogs and Beans sound ok. I wish I had beef stew because it feels like a winter day and that's always good. Maybe next time.
Take care and if you want to see all my new cards on ebay, just follow the link!
Hugs,
P

Touched By Kindness

I can't believe the kindness out there in the world by people whom I've never met except online. I know if I should have the great fortune of meeting them in person some day I will be able to pick them out from the glow they have around them! This week has been unbelievable to me in the form of caring about us from beginning to end. First VA took care of Barry, with no fee. Evan took me to lunch the next day and gave me a check to help us out. Then I got a wonderful box of goodies from a stamping friend and now this morning I woke up to a gift of money to top my week! Yes, I know I'm a lucky person! Barry and I have always tried to give back to our community and made sure our children knew that's what you do, but when it happens to you, it's very humbling. I thank you all for caring about the Bloom's. My heart is filled with love and good wishes for you all.
Do you like this card? I'm always looking for new layout idea's on the web and saw something like this. I can never get mine to look "just" like someone else's, but I'm happy with this card. I used some of the new papers I got in the mail from Pat to make this. These colors were fun to work with. It's nice to get out of the holiday mode for a while and think Spring! The verse is from Verve and the flower is made using several layers of CS.
I'm off to do the wash today. Barry has no clean jeans for the week. This week was hard on him with all the times his bag broke and he had several changes of clothes a day. We try to make light of it when it happens, but I know it takes a toll on him. He had a great dream last night. He was working and we were living in Maui! That's one I would like to come true!
Blessings to you all!
Hugs,
P

A Gift of Friendship

As promised yesterday, this is one of the cards sent to me from my friend Pat in WY. I LOVE IT! I've seen them made up over at SCS but never thought I'd have one. I know I wasn't making one myself, so you can see how wonderful I feel getting one for myself! The picture really doesn't do the card justice. It's even prettier in person! Thanks again Pat. Look in the mail early next week for something I made special for you!
Yesterday was a bargain day for me. I was looking for a Hobby Lobby coupon over at SCS. Someone always posts a link, but instead I found a thread about an envelope sale at Staples. What a deal! They are selling the boxes of 100 A2 envelopes for 5.00! Yes, you heard me right, so hurry on over to your local store and check them out. I heard they are not re-ordering this one again. I don't know the whole story, nor do I care, all I know is I got 400 new pretty white envelopes in my stash now! The way my cards are selling, that should last a good long time!
I broke open some of the papers I got from Pat yesterday as well and made a few new cards. I'll post them later in my ebay store, if you're interested in them. I was so happy with one of the cards. I love the digi images and I love to paper piece images. The trouble was how to do both. I worked it out on the computer yesterday. I first printed the image on plain paper and then marked the top of the page so I would know where to place a small strip of printed paper and then printed the digi stamp off the computer. My little girls dress printed out perfectly! All I had to do was cut the dress out and place where I wanted it! The hardest part was figuring out the top and bottom of the pages in my printer!
This afternoon Madelyn is marching in the holiday parade in our city. She's a Daisy, which is below Brownies, but it's a start. Tina is the troop leader so they get to do lots of fun things. It's not until 3 today, so I'll still have lots of time to play. Barry is working at a Lion's Eye Clinic this morning and then he thinks he's coming home for Turkey Salad Sandwiches. Not unless I buy some bread! Oh well. I guess I better get a move on it. The post office is calling me. I packed up all the thing I sold in the last day or two to go out. Not enough---but I can't make people buy any more then I could have made it snow in Dallas this week!
Have a great weekend!

Teacher Gifts

No I don't have any need for a "teachers" gift, but I made this one yesterday and added it to my ebay store. Won't this be a perfect little handmade gift for a special teacher? Well I think so and I'm hoping someone else will think so too and run right over to my ebay store and grab it up! The set was made using My Mind's Eye papers and a MFT image. The apple stamp on the postcard cards is from SU.
We didn't wake up to snow this morning. In fact, the sun is trying to come out! What a bummer when I thought I would see snow today. The weather got it wrong again! What a big surprise! Remember how it felt when you thought you'd have a snow day off from school and all you got was a big fat 0! That's me this morning. It's not like I didn't have things to do, it's just I thought I'd have a reason NOT to do them!
Can you believe it's Friday already. Where did the week go? I cooked our bird man yesterday so I don't have to cook again for a few days. I know, you're saying to yourself, and not out loud I hope, bummer! Yea, me too!
I have to make a trip to the office supply store today and buy envelope's. The are so darn costly! I looked at Office Max yesterday and they wanted 12 bucks for 100! Gold is cheaper! Down at the supply store, I can get 250 for that amount! Not cheap by any means, but cheaper! Walmart stopped carrying the A2 size, so now you have to plan it out!
I'm off to create something for my friend Pat. She sent me the most FAB box of stuff yesterday. All kinds of printed papers from SU, ribbon, flowers, and the most beautiful cards! Today I'll take pictures of them and post them tomorrow. You will love them! And the best thing ever came in the box as well. A new SU bible! Barry looked at me as if I were a "bit" off in my head when I said that last night, but he just doesn't get it. I haven't seen the new catalog in person this year and I love to keep it next to by bed and read it. Isn't that just like a Bible for crafters?
Have a warm and happy day!

A Little Birdie Told Me...

Yes, it's another image from Heather Ellis http://www.heather-ellis.co.uk/index.htm. This is the link to her website. She also sells the images on Etsy, but I found they are a bit less on her site even with the UK price. I used some stamps from SU to go along with the little girl. Perfect? Well, I think so anyway! I got this paper some time ago and since I only had a tiny piece I had no name of who made it. The polka dot is the other side of the plaid. You know how I like plaids!
I thought I'd show the inside today as well. I used to finish up the insides of all my cards, but lately I've become lazy or cheap! Don't know which one really. Since I lowered the price of my cards I feel that if I don't cut back a little, I'll be losing even more on the sales, but this one just seemed to "need" finishin up!
My lunch with Evan was so nice yesterday. We went to Sweet Tomatoes. It's a salad buffet that we have in our area. We like it a lot. So much so that for my birthday Evan gave me a gift card for there. After that I hit the natural food store for some fruit. We had none, so I added oranges and grapefruits. They are on sale this week. It's the season.
Today I'm off to CCA for my food shopping. What a blessing they are to have. I don't know what we would have done these past few months without their help. Barry is at school today and hopefully that will be for the day. When I come home I've got to work on some cards to sell. I'm getting low. I told Barry last night I've lost the will to stamp so much. I thinks it's because my sales are so slow so my mind thinks it's ok to slow down! I just can't believe how SLOW sales are this year. Isn't that just how it works, when you need it the most, it leaves. That's true weather it's brains or control!
Have a great day!

It's Beginning To Feel Like....

Winter! It's cold and dark down here in Dallas. Winter is really trying to make itself felt today, but this is nothing compared to what cold weather is coming later in the week! I like the cooler weather up to a point. It's nice to have around for a few days, even a week or two, then I want warmer weather back. I guess we'll just enjoy the fresh air for now! Do you like my soft and pretty Christmas card? I saw some pretty pink and purple holiday cards while hopping the blogs the other day and knew somewhere in my stash of paper there had to be something to make this color combo work! Ms Pure Innocence was the perfect choice for a stamp with this card. Now if it would only sell in my eBay store---today---would be nice!
Yesterday we spend hours at the VA with Barry's appointment. They checked everything out and he's lookin' good. By the time we got home, it was really nap time! Between the early morning's in our house for school and the drive and waiting, we both were beat. Today I'm feeling a lot better. I still want to shoot myself, but only a small wound would be OK!
I'm going to meet my son Evan for lunch today. It's a nice treat for me. I don't get out too much lately and even if it's cold, it will be fun!
That's about it for me. If you know of anyone who would like to jump at the chance to support a rather older age family of two really likable people, we're available! We come cheap!

Love and Hugs,
P

Love Letters

The thing I feel the least like doing is writing love notes to anyone, but she's so darling, I might make an exception! This little girl is from the pen of Heather Ellis Designs. Can you tell I'm a big fan? I liked her work before she started designing for My Favorite Things stamps and I'm so happy that she sells her images by themselves for about a third of the price. I used some old BG papers for this card as well. Even the pink layer is BG. I love being able to use up some of the papers left in those 6x6 little things.
Today Barry has another appointment at the VA. This time it's in Dallas, so we don't have to travel for hours. It's a follow-up last months to check out how he's doing. They should now have all the paper work from the surgeon and we'll go from there. I'm meeting him at school and then we'll drive down to the hospital together.
I made lots of cards yesterday and added them to my ebay store. I just wish I would have sold some last night. I was hoping to make a few bucks with them. Momma needs gas money! I wish I could say that in jest, but not this time. I really don't know when I've felt this down before. If you know me, I'm usually a happy person. Even if all the stuff around me going on, I don't get down on life. I think it's a waste of time to always feel bad, but between you, me and the bedsheets, I feel so bad right now. We're running out of money, we're running low on hope, and I wish I had the energy to run! I apply for jobs almost everyday and nothing! Sometimes I've got to wonder what is wrong with me? The one thing I know I can do well is make and sell my cards and even they're not selling well. Oh well, I guess you don't want to hear anymore about me feeling sorry for myself today. I think I'll just go and do something. I am in NEED of a shower before I go out of the house today, so I'm off.
Have a good day and think good thoughts!

She's All Dressed For the Holiday's

Isn't she pretty? Yup, she's dressed and ready to fly out the door to WY. I thought the paper was busy enough that this card didn't need anymore then a pretty ribbon to finish it off. Again, another wonderful image from Shelly. Yes, I would love to have some more Christmas Tilda's.
Let's see, what's new for today. Nothing really. Just trying to make a living selling on ebay. Yesterday was a good day, and now if I could sell the rest, we'd be rollin' in it! (LOL)! Hey, it's joke time! Barry had no clean pants to wear to school this morning so I'm washing up a storm. I need to figure out what to make for dinner. That's always a bore! Chicken or chicken? One will win out!
We're suppose to get some really cold weather tomorrow afternoon, so I think we'll have soup tomorrow. Thanks to CCA, we may never run out of canned soups! I need to make a post office run and then to Wally World for toilet paper. Some really exciting stuff in my life. Oh Lord, I need to get a life! Maybe after the new year!
Gotta run and get this day going. Don't want to miss trash day pick-up again!
Love and Hugs,
P

Buy The Darn Cards!

When you list something on ebay as "buy it now", that's what I expect people to do---no---they wait until the end of the sale to buy or not! That's the whole purpose of BIN! Ok, now I've said my little piece of bitchin' for the morning and do I feel better---NO! I've been craftin up a storm this season and it's just one of my pet peeves! Now I feel better!
Yesterday was so pretty in Dallas. It felt like a Spring day rather then almost winter. We went for a short ride, WalMart and back, and it was heaven! We ate an early lunch at Logan's Steak House. For my birthday I received a GC and we used it to share several things on the menu for lunch! It was nice to eat out for a change. We look at some of the coupons in the car where we kept them, and most had expired. Barry said that shows how long it's been since we ate out! Poor folks don't do that very often! It's eating back home today. Bummer, it sure was nice not to have dishes to do!
Today is another Redskin game to watch, or try. I think I'll craft a little and Barry will study a little and then it's nap time a lot!
Have a great day!

Full of Turkey!

We certainly had our fill of turkey and all the goodies to go along with it last night! What a feast Larry & Tina put on. Everything was just perfect and we all ate way too much! Madelyn was dressed up in her finest, at least twice. She likes to re-dress along the way. Changing clothes is a fun thing for girls her age I guess. Since I only had boys who didn't want to change even once, I don't really know about little girls! We rolled home after 8 and then rolled into bed last night!
Barry is home from school today and he's still sleeping. It's been one of those up and down mornings. My tummy said feed me, so I had some cereal. When he gets up finally, I'll feed him. NO rush! Today he's suppose to study for his test some more. We need to get a few things at the store, but I'm staying away from most of them. I'm not good with big groups of people all in a small space, so I think I might do some cleaning instead. Maybe!
I made several new Tilda cards yesterday. I sold some this morning on ebay to a dear friend of mine from SCS. I know she'll enjoy them. I just hope she didn't spend all her coffee money on them this morning!
I hope everyone had a fab day yesterday and will find the perfect sale items today. Hurry back soon!
Hugs,
P

Thank You Shelly

Isn't she cute? Thanks to my friend Shelly, I have lots of images from Magnolia. I love coloring them. They seem to come to life as you go. Today I'm sharing one I made yesterday. I used some more of my new BG papers and added a fun button from my stash. I had lots of time to create since I didn't have to cook or clean for Thanksgiving!
We're headed over to Larry's in a few hours. I do NEED to take a shower before we go, but other then that, I'm just thankful I don't have to cook for dinner! I will make a small green bean thing to take with us, but that's it! Larry was over earlier to get the stuffing mix he said he didn't "need" yesterday! So much for their planning! Mom always has what they need!
I hope everyone is having a great day. Enjoy the peace until the family comes. Stay safe dry.
Love and Hugs!

A Season Of Wishes

Tomorrow starts the season of hope, a season of wishes, and a season of new beginnings. My wishes are simple. Food, a job for Barry, and good health. I want them for all my friends and family. Right now our food needs are being taken care of and tomorrow my son has a coupon for another free turkey he wants to share with us. It's a good thing we love turkey sandwiches! Right now we seem to be in fairly good health. I hope you are too. It's the job thing we need to work on. I've tried wishing on the first star I see each night. That's not working out so good, but I never give up. Maybe that's the real meaning of wishes. Never stop wishing. Never give up. I'd just like a little sign of someone hearing my wishes.
Now if I could just make Barry and I into a Charity Cause---something like---Unemployed Grandpa's or Give To Needy Grandparents---Life would then be just FINE!
I hope each and everyone one of my readers will enjoy a day with family or friends tomorrow. I wish you the best of days!
Love to all who enter!

Mr Bird Is Cookin!

My lovely 14 lb. is up and cooking as we speak! I put him in at 7AM this morning and we'll be having him for dinner! Does that sound a little cruel? Maybe, but oh so good! Since we're going to Larry and Tina's for dinner on Thanksgiving, I had my bird to cook just for us. I cooked him today so we'd have wonderful fresh turkey all week. Just think of those great turkey sandwiches. I'm thinking, I'm thinking!
Today I sharing another holiday card that's sitting in my eBay shop. I did sell 5 more cards this morning and the best part is that my sweet customer paid for them right away. I LOVE those type of customers. Heck, I love most customers, but those that I don't have to wait around for payment on, are the best! Anyway, this card uses a sweet digi image from Heather Ellis again. I want to buy them all, but I'll have to do it one image at a time. The next one I'm going to buy is a darling little sweet girl opening a love letter. I think it would be cute for Valentine's Day. I can't believe I've said that. One holiday isn't even here yet and I'm ready to move on. I guess that's the way of the card makers. We're always moving on to the next new thing!
I'm off to do some wash and make another card or two for my eBay store. Check them out. I have several dozen just waiting for a new home. Adopt one or two! You'll feel better!
Love,
P

Season Of Joy & Love

We just got back from our trip to the eye doctor. Wow! What a trip. The ride wasn't bad, it just took a while to come and go! At least Barry will be having new glasses in about two weeks. Makes the trip worthwhile. We paid the extra for light weight lenses. I'm glad to be home now and ready to take my nap! Barry already is. He's going to a Lion's meeting tonight, so maybe I'll get a little done.
Do you like Ms Claus? I think she's so cute. I dressed her in warm pretty My Mind's Eye plaid paper. This paper makes my heart sing. OK, so most plaid papers do that, but this one is one of the pretties! I don't know who makes the little verse. It came out of my holiday box of stamps.
I sold a few cards over the weekend, but not enough to pay the electric bill yet. I keep trying. I was asked to join a group over at facebook.com. The purpose is to give to help folks who don't have enough food for the holiday's. Funny I thought, since we are on the receiving end of that charity this year. I guess you never know when or who will need help. I didn't think it would be us this year, but here we are. I am thankful there are places to turn to. Please help if you can.
Well, I'm off to finish my nap. Enjoy the rest of the day and hurry back.
Love and hugs,
P

The BIG Game

Today is the day that all true Dallas and Washington Fan watch each and every year for! If you're a Redskin Fan, Dallas is the team we LOVE to hate! The games used to the big match-up of the year. Now, maybe not so much for the Cowboys, but for Redskin Fans, YES! I've lived in Dallas for over 20 years and always root for the team that's playing against Dallas. It's in our blood. We bleed Red and Gold. I've even planted flowers in the team colors. We don't really care who else the 'Skins beat, as long as they win over Dallas.
WOW! I feel better already today. Just getting that little piece of info off my chest! Now I can move on to making cards---maybe. I've been trying to work on something this morning. Yea, well, you know how that can be. Some days you've got it, and some days you don't know where it went. This might be a day "it" went somewhere for lunch! But I keep trying. I need to do the wash today because tomorrow Barry and I will be gone most of the day. He has an appointment with the eye doctor. Only problem with using VA is you don't know where they'll send you. Barry's in a city called Bohamn. That very close to us. It's an hour and half drive each way. I'm hoping they have a scrapbook store somewhere near to at least make the trip worthwhile!
We're going to Larry and Tina's home for Thanksgiving this year and Larry said they will be getting the Turkey this year too. That's nice of them. Because of that, I'll be able to cook the turkey that I got this week at CCA for home. We'll have lots of meals with that birdie. I'm looking forward to Turkey sandwiches. I can almost taste them now! I just have to find out what Tina wants me to bring to their home.
So what are you up to this week? Are you traveling or staying home for the holiday? When we lived in FL we used to travel across the state to my family and spend the weekend with them. I really miss having lots of family around to pig out with. I think Barry hated it, but the kids and I loved all the fun and shopping we did. My family could be a bit "much" at times. Well, I guess we make the best of what we have.
Have a wonderful sunny day!

Bummed Out

I swear I don't know what to do to sell more cards this year! Or maybe I should say ANY cards this year! I can't make it selling 5 cards a week. I'm totally freaked out by this event this year! Can you tell? I must have at least 3 dozen cards for sale in my ebay store and there they sit. Looking on the bright side, if I don't sell many cards this year, I can save them for another year! I would send them out, but I won't have the postage to do that without selling some. It's a rough world we live in now! Do you like the new card I posted? I think it's fun. Barry thinks it's "busy", but then he thinks a lot of my cards are a "bit" busy! The stickers are from Wally World. I thought they'd be cute to use. I bought these little bingo cards some time ago and had a few left. The size of the card is 5x7.
Barry is off to a vision clinic for the Lions this morning and I'm trying to figure out what to make. I feel like moving on to Valentine cards, but I guess I'll hold off a few weeks. Nothing like getting a head start! We went to an open house last night at the new LSS. We saw lots of fun ideas. They have cool classes but they're too far to travel to. I guess that's a good thing for me. I got 4 pieces of new paper and a bottle of glitter glue. The glue was much needed, the paper not so much, but it was fun spending a few bucks on something I wanted, not needed!
I'm off to do something this morning. Have a good weekend and hurry back soon.

Any Way U Spell It

There are so many ways to spell the word Chanukah, but any way it's still the same holiday! In my family we spell it Hanukkah, but the stamps I'm using for this card spell it differently. It doesn't matter to Jewish children around the world. It still means fried things! In America the most popular is Potato Pancakes. That's the favorite when the kids come to dinner. My family thinks that they should be severed with every Jewish style dinner! I know, Thanksgiving is even here yet, and I'm talking about another holiday, but in truth, the Jewish holiday will be here soon. December 11 marks the day. Every year we celebrate it on a different day on the modern calendar, but it's the same day on the Jewish calendar. Don't ask why, I don't know. It's not suppose to be a BIG holiday like Christmas. We have MUCH bigger ones, but I suppose because it's near Christmas each year, it's gotten a bigger role. When my kids were small we gave presents each night. A pair of sox's and some underwear are the favorite gift among most Jewish parents! Now when I don't give those out, they complain, in jest of course, but I still enjoy it! I made this card yesterday for sale on my ebay site. It's not flying out the door anymore then the other cards, but at least I've tried. I used some My Mind's Eye papers and AMuse and Hero Arts stamps for the card. I like it and that's what counts!
We had a treat last night. Evan called and invited us to come to his house for dinner. He made Beef Stew in his cock pot the night before and wanted to share. He's a great cook! After the really down day I had yesterday, it was nice to his smiling face. He's my baby and will always be. He showed us pictures of the puppies he's been looking at to make his own. Evan wants an English Bulldog. The puppies are very cute and so little. He's still looking and thinking. I'm trying to talk Barry into letting me get another cat, but I'm not winning!
Well, I'm off to do something. One of the new LSS in our area is having a holiday open house today and tomorrow and another sent an email with a list of all the new goodies they got in. I'd love to go to either one, but with NO money to spend, and wet, rainy roads, I think I'll just head to Wally World for juice and coffee. No fun, but no extra money spent!
Have a great day and hurry back!

My Wishes

Yea, Peace is right up there on the top of that list, but it's more like Peace between my boys at Thanksgiving Dinner! They never seem to grow up! I guess I'm having a pity party for myself today. Don't we all have those days? When the world seems grey and nothing seems to be in our favor? Today is mine! I can't believe another Thanksgiving is coming up and Barry is still out of work. Another year has passed and I'm still saying "when you get a job". I just got back from the CCA pantry and making that's making me feel even more down then I did before. They are so wonderful there, but taking charity is never an easy thing. We were a middle class family. We used to have a buck or two to spend on silly stuff. Not anymore. Where would we be, where would so many families be without the help of others. It's a humbling experience. I still feel we should help out and do. Barry took a bag full of canned goods to school yesterday for the can food drive. We have so many, thanks to CCA, and others have needs too. I got a beautiful bird too today. It's all so nice, but what I really want, is a JOB for my husband. A job for me would be nice too. I keep applying, but nothing either. I want him to finish school, finally, and go to work. Maybe get some insurance for me. Little things like, you know, mean alot!
I have got to go and put away all the food I received this morning. I don't think anyone is coming to help me, so I better get a move on it.
Love to you all who read my ramblings daily!

Aren't they Sweet?

And they would be so sweet to eat! Yes, I got another digi image yesterday. This one was a bit harder to download to the right size. It took Barry helping me last night to get it right. Now if I could only figure out how to get the nice little verse that came with it size correct! I think digi image companies would sell more if you could just download the correct size right away instead of having to "play" with them. It's not PLAYING---It's Work to me! Well, at least I got this card made this morning. I don't know why I'm rushing to finish cards, they just sit in my ebay store and look pretty! Where are the customers? Are they all like me, and have no money to spend? Someone has to be working and want to send Christmas cards, don't they? So what did I sell yesterday you ask, well I'll tell you...no cards, but one stamp set. It was my new Verve set that I won. I thought it would better be used by someone else since I hadn't ink it up yet and the money was needed instead. I must see what other stamp sets I can part with. IF you ask Barry, he'd say plenty, but what do guys know!
Today I don't have any plans except to finally make it to the post office. Then I need to get to the store to buy OJ. It's hard to start the morning without it. And please dear Lord, don't let me forget coffee again! I'm almost out. I drank hot tea this morning in order to save what I have, but it's not the same.
Gotta run and take a shower. I can't stand myself any longer! Have a great day and stay warm!
Hugs,
P

A Moose's Work Is Never Done!

Riley is always doing something! He's he's not playing at the beach, then he's playing Army, and it that's not enough, now he's getting ready for Christmas! If any of my friends have Menorah Riley, I'd love to get an image or two of that one. After all, being Jewish, I should make a few Hanukkah cards! I just never seem to get around to it. So do you like Riley today? I've paired him up with some Basic Grey. I like how it turned out!
It's a lazy day for me. I'm still feeling a little down from the cold and I don't seem to have the energy to make a bunch of cards. I did make a few and got them listed in my eBay store. Check them out if you dare. You'll want to take them all home. They are priced just right! I've just gotten up from a little nap. I was going to watch TV from my bedroom, but the nap called instead. Better then a bill collector calling!
Our Taco salad dinner was perfect last night. Barry didn't get my message about the sour cream before he came home, but he was kind enough to take me back to the store and I got some. Tonight we're having a steak and baked sweet potatoes. Steak was on sale yesterday and it was cheaper then chicken! Doesn't that sound like a nice meal? I got some Sock-it-to-me cake for dessert. It's a pound cake of sorts. I like that Tom Thumb (a Safeway store) sells 1/2 cakes. This one has nuts and Cinnamon in it. Very tasty with a bit of butter on it.
I guess I better do something today. I really need to get to the post office, but I don't think that's going to happen. I'd need to put some clothes on and my PJ's feel so good! Stay warm and dry. It's only in the 50's here today and we've got a chance of frost tonight. I guess Winter has come to TX!
Hugs!

99 Bottles of Beer On The Wall, 99 Bottles .....

Who doesn't know that good ole drinkin song? Or was that the song we used to sing in the car to drive our parents crazy?! Yes, I think it was! That's how I feel about my number of cards I have to sell on eBay! I did sell some this weekend. WOW---7 whole cards. 5 yesterday. I'm on a roll! I replaced those with 4 today that I made this morning. Don't you love this new image? It's a digi image from http://www.whimsiedoodles.com/index.html. The thing I liked about this site over other digi sites is that the image was the right size for printing! I've bought some others and then I have to resize them. Not with this site. Check them out. I think they're a fun addition to my collection of stamps! The little verse is part of the set.
Well, let's see, what's new with me today? Not really very much. We had a lazy weekend. Today I got some wash done and headed out to Tom Thumb. I needed a few things for dinner. I'm making Taco Salad. It's a favorite of Barry's and mine. I thought I had sour cream in the house, so I didn't buy any, but when I got home and was checking out the things for dinner, I noticed it's French Onion Dip! If I can convince Barry to stop on the way home from school, we'll have sour cream, otherwise, we'll do without! I didn't feel like going back to the store.
I guess that's it for now. I'm so happy the Redskins won the football game, but the big test is next week. They're coming to Dallas. We'll all be breaking out our Red and Gold (Redskin colors) for the week. I don't want anyone to mistake us for Cowboy Fans!!
Hugs to you all!

She So Fine!

Can you say "hook" on Pure Innocence images? That's me! I just keep making the cards and they just keep sitting in my eBay store and looking at me! But they are so pretty to look at, that I think I'll make some more! Someone out their will think "WOW, I need those cards" and they'll be right there for them! For this card I took all the scraps and arranged them in a pleasant way and a card was born! All the paper is Basic Grey!
So what did you do yesterday? I stayed in my PJ's all day. I worked on cards, watched the CSI's from last week, and even cooked a great dinner pork chop dinner! Barry rested up from his "death" cold and managed to stay out of my way most of the day! Right now he's still sleeping. This comes before the "I'm in need of Food" part of the day. That comes soon enough. I have added I WANT A MAID AND A COOK to my list for Hanukkah this year! Just a part time will be fine!
It's so fun to look at the tracker I have on my blog and see where people are coming from to look at my fine blog. It would be so much more fun to have a comment or two from them, but I understand. Life is too short to do that! So, please keep coming back and taking a peck and enjoying the site!
Have a great day. We are doing nothing again, but I do have to go to see Madelyn later and give her a bag of holiday stamps that she needs for Girl Scouts. Her Daisy troop is making cards on Tuesday and Grandma is supplying the stamps, buttons, and some ribbon!
Hugs,

A Big Thanks To Barry

I now his cold! And I want someone to come and take care of me! Like that's gonna happen! I woke up with my nose running across my pillow--and his cough--WOW am I a lucky girl! A gift! It's ok. I took the med's before it gets worse--unlike Barry! He's now on the mend, but just takin' it easy this weekend. In other words, semi-death!
Can you tell I'm hooked on another group of stamps? This one is digi stamp from Heather Ellis. I was checking out things over at etsy and found more of them! I used lots of pieces of Basic Grey. I think it turned out really special!
We have no plans this weekend and after paying the bills, no money even if I did have plans. I plan on working on lots of cards to sell. I just don't know weather to put them on etsy or ebay. I want them to sell!
Well, I'm off. Have a super day!
Hugs!

He's Alive, He's Alive!

I've added a link back to my Etsy Shop! Please check it out and have a look at my cards!
Yes, he made it through the night without me killing him! Yea, and the best part is---he went off to school today! His parting words were "see ya soon", so I don't know how long he's staying, but hopefully Barry will get so involved in his studying, he'll at least stay until lunch time! I gave him lots of OTC drugs for his cold yesterday and they really did help. Now I feel crappy! What's a girl gonna do!
Like my card? I really enjoy stamping these darling little children. This card is using some new Cosmo paper as well. She's up for sale over at my eBay store. She's not selling, but she's UP for sale! What is wrong with the market? I know things are hard all over, but even my regular customers are MIA! What I need is a new market for my pretties. Where oh where to sell?
The weather is nice right now and it's suppose to be a pretty weekend until Sunday night. Then the rain and a cold front are headed our way. It's OK, maybe the cold weather will put us all in the holiday mood. It's hard to think "Christmas" when it's 70! We had that problem when we lived in FL. At least in Tampa, we had a few "cool" days. We had to even turn the heat on for a day or two! On year it got down to 18 on Christmas Day. It's when we first moved to Tampa and had oil heat. I didn't know you had to "order" it. I thought it just came! No heat and 18 didn't make my family too happy! We went for a ride and ended up in a Denny's for Christmas dinner. It's always a fun memory to bring up!
Have a great day!
Hugs!

Guess Who's Sick Again, & It's Not Me!

That's right, Barry is home sick, again! He's got a cold. Or maybe he has the flu---just ask him! I should limit his TV watching. Since he saw the news last night and saw 2 news stories about men who got sick after they thought they had a cold, he now thinks he has the flu! I did offer to take him to the doctor's office, but after cough medicine and two Bayer, he's feeling a "little" better! I hope I don't sound bitter, but this is the third time he's been sick and it isn't even winter yet! I almost wish it was the flu instead of your common cold. Then he's really be sick and maybe next time he'd stop whining! I'm just a tiny bit bitter this morning!
Today I'm trying to get some more cards. I've gotten a few made, but gave some of them away this morning to 2 wonderful ladies at the CCA pantry. They are always so helpful when I come in and tell me how much of this or that I can get, so I thought I'd say thank you to them each with a pretty card.
Well, I'm off to do something besides feel sorry for myself today. Maybe he'll sleep away the day and let me do my own thing!
Have a good day!
Hugs,

Sweet Little Girl

Isn't she sweet? Have you noticed that I have a "thing" for little girl images? Magnolia's and now this little My Favorite Things child. She was the other stamp I got on Monday with the end of my GC. Boy I love those things. So if anyone asks you, I'd love to have another one! It's so much fun shopping without spending any money for yourself! I used lots of new Basic Grey for the papers for this card. Can you believe no one has bought her yet? What's wrong with people? Oh well, I like her anyway!
Today we started our day late. We didn't even hear the alarm go off! We woke up 45 minutes late, but manged to finally get Barry out the door for school. He's been staying all day studying for his test. I'm so happy the end is now nearer then the beginning! I can smell that good job coming down the road! Believe me, I say a prayer for it every day!
So what are you up to today? I need to go to Sam's and get a box of mailing envelopes. I have 5 or so orders to get out and have NO mailing envelopes. I wish I knew a better, cheaper way to ship, but I don't want to harm the cards and padded envelopes seems to way to go. Any suggestions?
I guess it's time to start thinking about Thanksgiving soon. What are you making? The boys weren't happy about Turkey, but since everyone is watching what they spend, Turkey it is! I am so thankful for CCA and the pantry. We're going to get something I never thought we'd need, a Thanksgiving Basket of food. Barry being in the Lion's Club, we've always been the one's to do the giving, but this year, it's the getting. Isn't it funny how just getting food in your home it the greatest thing! Not having to worry that you have nothing to eat such a big thing? I hope it gives us all a reason to be grateful for what we have and always remember that there is someone worse off then we are, no matter how bad we think we have it, someone is on the street, with no hope, and no love. I am truly blessed to have a family who loves me, a roof (for the time being) over our heads, and food on the table.
Hugs to all!

Tilda Needs A New Home!

I'm so lucky to have good friends that share their things with me. Tilda and the window image came from a friend some time ago. I tried to get someone else to share a few of the Tilda images but it seems like no one had her that I asked over at SCS, so I did the next best thing. I made copies on my computer! I scanned her in and printed her out on card stock! A funny thing happened to the images. They got a tiny bit smaller when I printed them off! That was OK by me because sometimes the Magnolia images are a little "too" big. I like a nice large image to color, but sometimes they were a bit "too" big! I saw this lay out on a blog yesterday. Please don't ask where because it was one that I leaped from blog to blog and ran across. If the lay out is yours, I'm sorry I don't know your name, but thank you for such a great idea! I used some of my new Basic Grey papers and bit of green gingham that I've had in my stash for years! I wish I could get a really good picture of all the glittery goodness of this card, but you'll have to just take my word!
I think today is shower day. I've been so lazy for the last few days that I haven't even gotten dressed that today I have to make it a real part of my plan! I need to go to the store. I'm out of coffee and more importantly, I'm out of mailing envelopes to send out the few cards that I have sold in my ebay store! I keep trying to figure out what's wrong with my work. I really am at a loss as to why they aren't flying off the shelves. I've lowered the price of the cards and I'm having to make more and more just to make a small amount. I have dozens of cards listed in my store. Two weeks until Thanksgiving and not alot of money coming in. I hope this isn't a sign of the whole season. I know we're not going to be spending anything this year on gifts for the holidays, but I was hoping to be able to buy food at least! Are you worrying about how to pay for the holiday's this year? Have you planned on cutting back?
On a much brighter note, I spoke with Madelyn last night. She is so cute at 6. What a blessing Grandchildren are! She called to speak with Grandpa, but he was out at a meeting, so she was left with me. They are celebrating Veteran's Day at school today and she needed to know when Barry was in the Army and what branch. She sounded so sad when I told her he wasn't home, but I could help her instead. She really wanted to talk to Barry, but I had to do!
Well, I'm off to the shower and then so coffee somewhere. Have a fun day and Hurry back!
Hugs,
P
