Usin' Up That Paper

This card is using up some more of that Basic Grey we all know and love! Sometimes I just don't know what to do with all the really busy pieces that come in the pad, but I love how this one turned out. I used a Verve verse and a pretty Verse flower stamp. This is the end of my brown gingham for right now. Boy oh boy, someday I'm going to be able to buy TONS of new ribbon. Someday when the world is right again! Speaking of someday, we had Madelyn last night. She's really a great little girl. So full of life and fun at almost 7. Larry gave us some money to take her out to dinner. That was a really, really nice thing to do. It was going to be left overs, but instead we went to Denny's. She loves the Chocolate Chip pancakes they have on the children's menu. Along with a nice shake, she's a happy girl. We finished up the evening with a trip to the Dollar Tree.
Today I've been busy working on more cards and Barry has been busy working on his naps between naps! Yes, the man has a rare talent!!
I'm off to get ready for the Hockey Game and make a quick lunch. Have a great day, and hurry back soon!
Hugs,

Just Another Oldie!

Check Spelling

I have new stuff that I've made, I just can't post it yet. You'll have to come back for that! I have some new Whimsie Doodles cards I've been working on. Can't wait to share, but since they are for the March release, you'll have to wait. So today I'm sharing a card from last year. I really enjoy stamping these little guys. They are so fun. Today Riley is a Pirate! I must dig them out again and make a few more cards with him.

Today we're just hanging around. Did some food shopping at Wally World. Lots of goodies. Madelyn is coming over tonight. The kids are going to Evan's for his birthday party. We were invited but thought it would be just as much fun to watch Madelyn so Tina and Larry could go and enjoy themselves. Barry is now taking his late afternoon nap so he can stay awake with Maddy.

That's about it for today. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Stay safe and trouble free.

Hugs,

Paula

It's Friday and I'm Lost, Again!

I'm always lost, at least that's how I feel today. My MOJO is gone today. All I want to do today is lay around and eat. Doesn't that sound like a plan to you? It would be if I have lots of comfort food in the house, or if I had the money to run out and buy some. That's not happening today! I have a cell bill due by the end of the day, and I'm still trying to raise the last of the money to pay for it! I am so tired of this everyday grind to make a $. I know we all have choices to make in life, but what happens when the choices are taken away from you. When you feel like you have no say in what happens anymore. Maybe I never had a say in anything anyway! Ok, so don't mind me today. I'm just in a funk, again! Do you like the card? I really like how it turned out. It was bit of "things" on my desk. Small piece of green card stock, small piece of plaid paper, and a few odd buttons. I don't think I've ever found a better way to use this SU set of flowers before. They seem to be "made" to go with the SU Refuge and Strength set of sayings!
I gotta run and check my chicken soup. It's starting to sell good. I hope it tastes like something when it's all done. I put it up earlier so the house would smell good all day.
Have a great day, hurry back!

P

Something Fun!

Cute little Moose Partner, isn't he! This card was made using a layout from SCS. I think it turned out fun. Easy, and cute too. That's what I call GOOD! I even embossed the brown card stock. I could be on a roll today. Ok, maybe not, but if could happen! My horoscope said I'm going to have an easy day. OH yes, please!
Barry finally got off to school, late, but gone now. The good part may be that he'll stay later. That my friends, is a very good thing! I need to work on some projects myself today. The first thing I need to do is remember where I put some new stamps that I got for the Whimsie design team. They are March's stamp and I don't know where they are. I was cleaning up before Maddy came last Friday, and I put them somewhere she wouldn't see them and want to use them. Now I can't find where they are hiding! They are so darn cute too! I'm sure they'll turn up. At least I hope they do!
Today the sun is shinning, but tomorrow we're suppose to have rain. Rain I don't mind. It's good to get some before the grass starts growing again. I hope we're done with the snow, but this is
Texas, and we can have anything. The first year we lived here, we had snow in March. We had just come from Tampa, and didn't even have heavy clothes, let alone SNOW boots. 21 years later, I still don't have any snow boots!
Have a great day and hurry back!

SOMEBODY LOVES YOU--YES THEY DO!

Just click on the picture if you want it bigger so you can see all the very fine coloring going on! I gotta say I'm having a great time with all the Whimsie Doodle images this month but these two are my favorites! I think I could make this Jelly Belly Bunny a few more times without any trouble. He's just fun! This time I stamped a funny little saying from the Red Rubber collection that WS came out with this month. Lots of very cute sayings. I am still trying to finish up any BG little pad. I'm coming close on this one. I think all that's left is 2 pieces of the red and yellow papers in this pack. I have high hopes I can finally be done with at least one of those 6x6 pads! There always seems to be a piece or two left that doesn't get a home, but I think if you hold them long enough, you'll find a way!
Barry was able to drag himself out of bed this morning and head off to school. Don't know how long he'll stay, but any time is my time! Evan came over last night and now I have a new disposal in the kitchen! I am so blessed to have him as one of my children. He'll be 35 on Saturday, but always my baby!
Take care and thanks for all the kind thoughts!
Hugs,
P

I Must Be Dreamin'!

Oh heck, what's wrong with a bit of daydreaming on a snowy day? Except for those folks living in places like Maui, we still have Winter, and today it's cold and I thought this nice oldie from last years batch of cards would be a nice treat! Riley The Moose is just hangin out!
Thanks for letting me know you cared yesterday. I was having a melt down. Today I feel better. Barry is still sick and he's staying home instead of going to school, but maybe he'll sleep all day and stay out of my hair. Evan is suppose to come again tonight and put a disposal in the kitchen, so maybe the world will be a better place. I've got to run to the post office and get my packages mailed out and then work on some projects. March will be here before you know it. I see I still have lots to work on. I love being of this design team. Everyone is wonderful to work with and a great owner, and that makes the work that has to be done so much sweeter each month. Next week I'll be showing some bits of things to come, so just keep coming back...until then...have a great day!
Hugs and love,
P

Second Post of the Morning---Already

Do you have a Black Cloud hanging around you? It seems I do and it's never far away! It struck again this morning! The garbage disposal just broke! I mean BROKE! So now to figure out a way to live without one until I sell enough cards to pay for a new one. I just want the world to stop and for me to get off! I want a week to start fresh and new and nothing bad to happen!
IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR???????

Listen Up, Already!

That's what I feel like yelling sometimes! Is somebody listening to me? I'm sure HE is, but I'd like a sign, and I don't mean having Barry sick in the middle of the night sign! I think Barry has a touch of the flu bug right now. He did go off to school this morning, but he was sick all weekend. I found the best way to handle his illness over the weekend and this will work for any and all things related to husbands----just don't ask how they're doing! I didn't ask if he wanted anything. I didn't ask how he was feeling, and I didn't ask if I could do anything for him! He had to ask on his own. That's a big thing for Barry because when he wants to eat, he asks me if I'M HUNGRY---drives me crazy! Did I feel better about this method? Why the answer was YES! He did wake me up at 12:30 this morning with the chills. They were really bad, so I got him socks and another blanket. He soon went back to sleep and let me get the rest of my much needed beauty sleep!
So what are you up to today? Leave a comment, let's share it. I think I need to stock up on a few basics today. We're suppose to have snow tomorrow. They "think" it will be light, but the weather people have been off all winter, so I think I'll prepare just in case! I worked on lots of cards this weekend. Lots were sold on ebay, so I need to restock there. I wish I could say I didn't need the money they bring in or that I could say, WOW, now I have play money, but not yet. As the card said, I know G-d is listening to me!
Have a safe and warm day.
Hugs,
P

Welcome Saturday!

It's Saturday finally, and of course Barry is feeling ill! What else is new? Don't answer that question, please! He woke up feeling achy during the night and is still feeling that way. He'll get over it or else---
Today's card was made using a great set of SU stamps that I was able to borrow from my friend Pat. I was interested in owning this set and asked around. Nothing had or wanted to part with it, so Pat let me borrow hers. I've made several cards and this is one. I don't know what draws me to this set, but I am, and so I want to get lots made. I used some SU paper scraps I had. I was able to get several cards made from what I found in the stash pile and luckily had matching card stock, too! Check out those buttons. I bought them years ago on a clearance at Wally World for .50! They matched perfectly and even had the floss already tied!
Last night Madelyn came to visit. Taco salad was perfect. She ate everything and then had hot chocolate later. She manged to get a card and a post card made for her Mom while she was there. Her card had at least a dozen "gems" on it with as many prima's as that! The girl does like her bling! Tomorrow we're having dinner with them.
Have a great day and hurry back.
Hugs,
P

A BLOOMING GOOD DAY!

Isn't she cute? Don't you want to just get out in your garden and feel the sun on your face? I'm sure Spring will be before you know it, but until then, you can look at my sweet My Favorite Thing's little sweet girl and dream! I'm sure by now you know I'm hooked on these dear Sweet Innocence images and when it's combined with anything that says Bloom, it's a winner in my book! I paper pieced her dress. I must say it was harder then I thought. I stamped the image out first on white card stock. Then I stamped the dress out on print paper and then I stamped another image out on scrap white for the arms and watering can. I found my "cloud" stamp from Stamp In The Hand that I've had for years last week and I've been stamping clouds on everything since. The paper is from SU. Pieces were found in my scrap pile.
Today Barry has his last test and I hope it goes as well as the rest. Then he won't have to see a doctor about the Cancer for a year! YEA! We're babysitting Madelyn tonight. Tina is leaving on a cruise today with her sister and Larry is going out tonight, so we get the best of the best! It's Taco salad night at the Bloom's. Something simple and I know she'll eat it. She loves all the veggie's. My favorite part as well.
I guess that's about it for me. I have lots of coloring to do today. In the last two days I've sold a few cards and need to replace those in my ebay store. Check them out!
Have a wonderful day~
HUGS,
P

ARE YOU A BASKET CASE?

I ask myself that question on a regular basis! I think I'm too far gone to even get in a basket! Oh well, at least I can play with new stamps from Whimsie Doodles! My new red rubber stamps arrived, so now in addition to the digi images, I have the stamps! I got several new packages of goodies this week. I am so lucky to work for a great company, Whimsie Doodles, and have great friends, like Pat. Lucky ME! There are layers and layers of paper on this card. I used some My Mind's Eye paper for this whole card. Notice the cute little baby buttons? They are brads I've had for several years. They come in a number of colors and 2 different sizes. I dug them out to use on this card.
So what's up with you? Is the winter weather fading to Spring? We're heading up to 60 today. A real heat wave from what we've had. It's nice for a change. Today I have to do a little card making for the design team. I was reminded that the March deadline will be here before you know it. I am having fun working on Easter cards and you'll see lots of those in the next few weeks.
Now I'm off to watch the DVR for a while and then work, work, work!
Hugs,
P

Maybe Spring Is On It's Way!

Just look at this bright Spring colored card. Doesn't it give you hope for Spring? Doesn't it make you think all the world could be righted? Of course it does! If I can think that way, anybody can. Believe me, everyday is a baby step in the right direction. There are bumps along the way, there are set backs, but when the sun is shinny and you start thinking about what you want to put in the garden, good times can't be far behind!
Don't forget to come back tomorrow to check out my first Wacky Wednesday Whismsie challenge. You know, don't you, that it's National Friendship Week? That's all I'm say, please come back and visit tomorrow. Dig out those Whismise Doodles images and get moving!

The Possibility Of Miracle's Today

Today's card is made using an SU set that was a gift from a dear friend this fall. The little verse reminds us that anything is possible in this life. I know that I often need reminding of that. Sometimes life seems so dark to me and other times, the Sun is shinning. So for all those who doubt, I think we just have to believe life will be better!
The paper I'm using for this card is from My Mind's Eye. I had this great 60% off coupon last week from M's. Now, how could I let that go to waste? Barry asked me why I needed more paper when I clearly have all that any one person could need. The answer lies in the fact that I don't have every piece of MME paper! I couldn't go wrong for 2.00 for this cute little pad I got. So I won't have that extra piece of pie next time I'm out (I don't like pie anyway), but the 2.00 I spent on this paper pad gave me a lift that I needed badly. Haven't you been there before? I'm so ready for Spring and Easter now!
Today Barry is at school. Hope he'll stay all day. That would be such a treat for me. He's been coming home in the afternoon since he returned to school a few weeks ago. I NEED A WHOLE day to myself! I know I'm dreaming again!
Have a great day and hugs to all.

Did You Have Fun?

I hope everyone enjoyed yesterday's blog hop from Whimsie Doodles. I know I had a blast seeing all the other designers projects! If you haven't had a chance yet, check them out. Today I'm showing you a card that is made using the free image. Mr Jellybelly! What I think is the really fun part about using digi images, besides getting them right away, is that you can resize them to what you want them to be! I printed a few sizes and for this card I chose one that was about 2x2.
Did you see the Olympics last night? What a great show! I have to admit I took at nap around 10. We were up at 5 yesterday morning so Barry could get to the hospital for his Bone Scan test. Since we didn't know how the roads were going to be, he left early. Turns out it was ok, but slow to get to the VA hospital.
We still have snow outside today. At least the roads are clear today. My car has ice on it, but it's the weekend and Barry is the driver if we go anyway. No plans for us this weekend. Just stay at home and watch the DVR and play catch up with that. Today being Valentine's Day, we'll celebrate in the same way we do every year---nothing! We got engaged 40 years ago tomorrow and Barry thinks there would be no way to top that, so he doesn't try! Some years he'll buy me marshmallow hearts. I love those darn things, but this year I'd settle for Easter Peeps. They're out in full force already, and boy am I ready!
Have a great day! Stay warm and safe!
Hugs,
P

Sneak Peek Whimsie Doodle Blog Hop

Just one more day until you get to see the real thing. Just one more day until you can WIN prize's and hop around the blog with us! You will love the brand new images! Lots of goodies for wonderful Easter cards! So, don't forget to come back tomorrow to see the real deal!
We spoke with my BIL and they are really socked in up North. He's in Maryland and they can't find the car. They know it's out there somewhere, but hiding under the snow. My SIL Nancy teaches school and they've been closed, so she's been enjoying her time. We're suppose to get some "wintry" mix tonight and tomorrow. It could be anything or nothing. It doesn't seem like the weather men get it right very often! I think they just guess half the time. Oh well, I'm ready. Barry and I went to the store and got lots of goodies. OK, goodies if you like eggs and chicken, but hey we got Pop Tarts....what more could you need?
Gotta run and get something done, so enjoy the picture and hurry back!

It's Cold & Rainy Today

Oh yea, it's a nice wet rainy day in Dallas today. It's the perfect day to stay inside and cuddle with a sweet puppy. If only I didn't have to drive over to Evan's house to do that. Coco is getting so big now. She went to the Vet's on Saturday and she now weighs 15 pounds! His little girl is growing up! She even had nice new tags for her first collar. Today I start my cat sitting duties. Justin is flying off to Orlando this morning to spend time with the family at Disney. Tina wanted him to spend as much time with them before he goes off to the Navy. Don't know yet when that will be, but not too much longer I'm sure. That means Grandma gets to cat sit. They have old cats and one needs her med's twice daily. Lucky me. I'd rather have the puppy!
Like the card I posted today? I made it over the weekend. I was pretty busy making cards. I got a bunch done, so I'm pretty happy about that. I used some BG paper. I'm so sorry to be down to the end of that pad. I got lots of cards made using Sugar Rush. Now to wait for the new one's to come out. The stamp set is Stampin Up. I remember when I got this one. I made cards all the time using it, but now, it just sits there. I was listing lots of stamps for sale last week, and couldn't make up my mind on this one....I kept it!
I am looking for a SU set called Refuge and Strength. I would love to own this set for a project, but I would need to trade for it, or have someone who really wanted to have me take it off their hands (LOL). Let me know if you'd like to deal.
Well, stay warm and dry. Peace and Love,
P

Just A Fun Oldie!

I didn't really have anything new that I could post today. I've been working on DT cards for next week, so I thought I'd post one of the cards I made some time ago and hopefully it will brighten your day up as it does mine. I love this paper. It's just too bad I don't have any left. I think I went though 2 packages of the stuff. Plaid is my thing. I've always loved the stuff! If you have any and want to part with it, I think I'm a good charity for that. Heck, I'm a good charity for anything!
Larry, Tina, and Madelyn left for Disney World today. They'll be gone until Valentine's Day. It's for their 10th anniversary. I can't believe it's been that long. Barry and I planned the dinner after the ceremony and it was our gift to them. At the time I worked for American and we flew all the time. They were married at the Disney and spent the week there. A lot has happened in those years. We're lost Barry's mom and mine, my dearest cousin Mark, and a job or two along the way. We do have a wonderful granddaughter Madelyn, and a grown up grandson who will be going into the Navy soon. Justin was just a little boy with his Mother married our son. We are really lucky to have had all this in our lives.
Barry went off to a training session this morning for helping with the judging of a project Madelyn is involved it. More later on that. So today I'm doing nothing exciting. Maybe I'll get around to stamping. I would like to, but my MOJO is on VC!
I hope all the folks up North are staying in and keeping safe. Love to all my family up there.
Hugs,
P

I Want To Feel Better, Really I Do

It's Friday, the end of the work week, and I want to be joyful. I really do, but it's grey outside, and we're suppose to have a Wintry Mix by the end of the weekend and I want sun and water! Does that happen to you in the dead of the winter? I'm a Summer Girl. I love the beach. I love the sand and sea. I've told Barry he can bury me at the beach. I can never understand how people will pay to be cold! When we lived in Tampa we had a pool and were on the water. We were 10 minutes from the beach. Now if you want beach, it's a nice LONG drive. Oh well, I guess I'll go back to dreaming!
Barry went off to school this morning like a good boy should. I listed a ton of stamps on eBay. I even sold one set this morning. Now if I could sell the rest, we might have money for extras, you know, like food! You think I'm kidding, but NO, I'm not, not this week. I had to pay a bill that was way overdue this morning and that took about all of it. It's a good thing we have a lot of canned goods in the pantry, and I really LOVE tuna fish! My parents used to say they thought I ate so much tuna when I was a kid, that I was going to turn into a tuna sandwich! I think they were kidding!~!~!
I'm busy working for new cards for the Whimsie Doodle bog hop next week. It's on the 12th and there will be prizes! Mark it on your calendar and come back soon!
Hugs,
P

THINKING OF YOU ALL

Just like the title says, I'm thinking of all my friends out there! They have been so wonderful to me. I will never be able to thank them enough for all their kindness. From images to card stock, money and offers to help, I am truly blessed in this life! Listen, don't tell anyone, but when I win the Lotto, I'm gonna help alot of people myself! Power Ball came to TX yesterday. I told Barry I was glad I didn't buy a ticket because none of my numbers would have won. I guess another day will do!
The card I'm sharing today is a mix of different papers I found in my stash. A few years ago I was at a scrapbook show and bought some card stock. I just found it, but inside the package was several pieces of printed papers. The paper was one of them. The music paper was from HL. I stamped some hearts on the paper and added a Pure Innocence girl. I swear all the little bits on the card were from my desk mess. I had this big pink button and added to a small piece of ribbon. The little SU verse was suppose to go on another card but didn't make it. I love the way it all came together!
Today I'm trying to work on some projects for the Whimsie DT. I almost forgot the blog hop next week. It's on the 12th. Don't forgot to come back. There will be prizes at the end!
Have a good day, hurry back, and keep us and all our friends in need in your prayers. They really do help!

Seeing Red

I think that red is my eyes! They seem a little blood shot this morning! Today I'm showing a card made for the Whimsie Doodle challenge over at PCP. Check out all the great cards that will be posted today. The image I'm using today is a FREEBIE! It does come with it's own verse, but this one I chose to use today is an AMUSE little one that was just sitting on my shelf waiting for me. It called me by name---I swear! The paper I used is from Basic Grey Nook and Pantry. The strawberry's were perfect for this cute little guy!
Boy, of boy, I just don't know what to do. I tried selling some stamps right here on my blog and nothing, nobody seems interested or maybe no one has any money either. After a trip to get some food yesterday, I'm right back where I started again. Only now instead of having about 1.50, I have 3.00. I was hoping to sell either the stamps or some cards that are now on ebay. Neither is working for me. Heck, who needs gas! It seems like I try and I try and then my efforts bring in little income. I need to find another way to make a living. There must be something out there for a 60 year old little old lady! Standing on street corners is out of the question. It's cold outside, besides the fact that I'm OLD! OH well, I just keep praying that something good will happen and I know it will. I just hope it's sooner rather then later!
Have a great day and hurry back. If you're interested in any SU stamps, they'll be posted on ebay later today.

Hey, It's Monday---Wake Up!

Where did the weekend go? It's starts and then it's over! I ask myself every Monday. is it going to be a good week or is it going to be the same old, same old. Maybe on Monday I don't even want to know! Do you like the card? It seems like when I got this set, I used it everyday and now it just sits there and I only use pieces of it. I love the little verses and use them often. The party hat gets a work out too. True to my word to myself, I'm trying to use up BG papers. The good thing is that I'm using them, the bad thing is that once they're gone, I'll have no more. Hopefully Barry will get a job or something wonderful will happen and I'll be able to afford more paper!
Speaking of Barry, he's back at school today. YEA! It's always a wonder as to how long he'll stay at school. He used to gone the whole day and I didn't have to make lunch, but now he's always tried in the afternoon and comes home. I think he's more bored then anything else. School has been so long for him and he's ready to move on, even through he's not really finished. KWIM?
Well, I'm off to finish working on the wash I started last week, get a shower, mail some cards, and finish a ton of projects!
Have a nice week and hurry back!
