Don't Hate Me Because I'm So Pretty!

CLICK ON PICTURES TO MAKE THEM LARGER!

She's so darn sweet! It's the gang from last night. Coco Channel came to visit right along with the rest of the kids and made herself right at home! She had so much fun eating all the tags on Madelyn stuffed animals we have for her and she was such a good little doggie girl. Evan is holding a huge Mickey Mouse on his lap that Coco was dragging around by his arm. The best part was the tag. She really goes right for the tags on toys first! Then she checked out Madelyn's chair. It's now Coco and Madelyn's chair. Everytime she had a toy to play with, she'd drag it back and hop up into the chair. So darn cute! And finally Larry and I had Coco with us on the sofa. She's a kisser alright! She really is a charmer and she knows it!
Dinner was just wonderful. Justin and his GG Morgan came as well. They left before dessert for "date night"! Young love. I can't remember back that far and that is a good thing! Barry went off to school today, cold and all. Of course he has another cold. He's been sick free for at least a week or two and now it's time to feel sorry for him again! Yea, that's not happening! I've stopped asking him how he's doing. I know it sounds heartless, but I don't want to open that can of worms, and asking just leads down that path!
I got all the dishes done last night except the bottom of the roaster and the flying pan. Left them soaking. Now to clean them and empty the dishwasher and I'll be done. Of course I have to find all my craft stuff that I put up yesterday so Coco won't eat things. I need to work on cards today. I started but them stopped to take something for my back. I washed the kitchen floor on hands and knee's yesterday. Not a good idea at my age, but I have an all white floor and the only way it really gets clean is to get down and do it. Where oh where was the maid when I needed her!
Have a fun day and stay safe! Happy Passover!
Hugs,
P

Happy Passover

Just a quick post because I have to finish cooking, cleaning, and cleaning some more. Evan is bringing Coco the Bulldog Grandbaby over tonight and she eats anything that's on the floor. Well, everything is on the floor around my desk in the living room. I'm working on it now and it should take all day to finish it up! Do you like the card? It's made using a freebie from Bugaboo digi images. Very fun and easy to use! The paper is DCWV. I don't know who makes the little verse. A few years ago I started collecting get well sayings and this is one I've had for a while.
I'm happy I sold some cards last night over at ebay. Who would have thought I'd be selling cards to pay my electric bill, but that's what's happened this month! I was $21 short of making it, so I worked very hard on making more cards to sell and when I get paid for those sold, I'll have a dollar or two over what I need! Everyday I ask myself the same question---will we make it today, and everyday I have to answer myself with the same answer---who knows!
Have a great day,
Hugs,
P

Happy Monday or The Day Before Passover!

That's right, it's the day before my family comes to eat! That could be any holiday, but it's always a joy to see them and I love cooking for them. Maybe it's a Mom thing, or a Jewish thing, but whatever it is---I love to see them eat! I wasn't sure I was going to be cooking this year. Money is non-existent this year and certainly didn't include making a whole lot of extra food, but Larry and Tina stepped up and bought most of the food for Passover. No, it's not what I would have bought, but it was the thought that counts in this case, and I'll make do. I really hate being like this. At 60 you never think you're going to be getting from your children instead of the giving ones. It makes me sad that life has turned out like this for us. Next week Barry is will be taking his .Net test. I hope he passes and then can finish up his first test he didn't pass. It's like pulling teeth to get him to move along. I know he wants to, it's just he's a bit afraid of what's out there. That's my opinion about it.
Do you like the card? It's made using a Verve Plain Jane stamp. I saw a nice simple layout similar to this one made by one of the designers for Verve and thought it was so pretty just showing off the verse. I think I must be the only one who likes it because it's not selling on ebay at all. Neither one of the ones I made using this stamp sold. I guess they don't know what they're missing!
Take care, have a blessed day,
Hugs,
P

Just Some Sweet Friends!

Have good weekend!

Check out all the fun projects using these darling little Whimsie Doodles bears. You will love all the fun creations! This card was on of those cards that just seem to spring to life right from my desk! I had this plaid paper left over from Christmas. I know, but it's true. It really was Christmas paper I bought a year or two ago and because pink and green are nice Spring colors anyway, it works perfect!
It's Friday and who knows what next lousy thing will follow me home. I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop, it seems. It's not right to live your life like this. It's Spring. A season of rebirth, and yet...
Have a wonderful day!

A Kind Heart

I hope the interviewer this morning had a kind heart! My interview from yesterday was pushed today. I think it went well and all I have to do is wait! I should be doing something before I "just wait" but I'm really not in the mood to do anything besides lay around and eat sweets. I know, it sounds like a great plan! I thought so too. Too bad the wash won't get done, the house won't get cleaned and the cards won't get make themselves! Do you like the one I'm showing today? It's from another SU set that I don't use often enough. I love stamps that having nice verses on them. I used some more of that fun DCWV pad I bought. It's got the prettiest papers and I'm going to try and use them all! (Evan the uglies!)
Well, I'm off to do something. I do have to make a post office run today and then get some "stuff" done. I'm still trying to find a way to raise some more money and selling on ebay seems my answer today. Here's hoping!
Hugs and Love,
P

Good Buddies!

Don't you just love these cute little guys! Best Bud's! This is made using a Whimsie Doodles digi image. This is the set that's helping all the little guys in the shelter's! Check it out, it's a wonderful cause to support and you get a good feeling either way!
Today could be a good day or it could be a real downer. The morning young and the jury is still out! I sold some stuff on ebay today, but not enough to pay for the insurance. I'm still hoping that more will sell. Why is life so darn hard? It's a question I ask myself everyday. I had some older SU set listed and they sold for dirt---DIRT! Not a real big market out there for used SU stamps I guess. Enough of the crappy stuff. I have an interview this morning on the phone for a part time position working at home on the computer. I've checked them out and they are a real company that has real jobs. Maybe something good will come out of that. I also applied for another job yesterday and pasted the screening questions and now I'm waiting to hear about an interview for that one. I guess I just don't believe there is any job out there until I know for sure. I just want to make some money. It doesn't even have to be a lot. I just need to make some to pay for little things, like food, and today insurance!
Today is going to be a good day!
Hugs,
P

Did Someone Call For A Nurse?

Seems like everyone has a person in their home who is getting sick right now, so I thought this darling nurse could come and take care of you all! She's from Heather Ellis who also designs for My Favorite Things. This is a digi image. Can you say I'm hooked on the digi's? YES!
I have a good day carding yesterday. I must have made 10 cards with several other images colored and ready to go. I got up early, unlike today, and just started creating. Today, not so much. It's 8 and I'm just having my first cup of coffee. Barry let me sleep in when he left for school and I feel so much better doing that. I don't know what the plan is for today other then get my body moving. I've been working on last minute Easter cards as well, so I want to finish them and then maybe a shower would be in order. One of the problems with working at home is remembering to take that shower and get out of your PJ's! It's so easy to stay ready for a nap when you work at home!
I have to do a little shopping for Passover. It's in one week and I haven't even started shopping yet or getting the house clean. I will, I think!
Have a wonderful day,
Hugs,
P

Spring Flowers

Yesterday was Winter and today it's Spring again. There is still a chill in the air, but the sun is shinny and I guess that counts as Spring! We didn't even get out of our PJ's yesterday. We were glued to the TV, watching all the shouting about Health care. The longer the afternoon wore on, the more the "other" side's speeches got louder and louder. It was truly government at work, or not! I did get a bunch of cards made while watching the TV. This is one of those. The stamp is from Stamp In The Hand. I've had on sale for a while, but it didn't sell, so now it's in my box of prized stamps again. It makes wonderful cards. The "just because" is from Hero Arts. I've had this box of tiny saying for years. It comes with 5 others. The paper is October Afternoon. I colored the image with SU makers and then stamped them. Hope you like the card.

P

Paw's I Care Part II

This card is made using another fun images from the Paw's I Care set of images from Whimsie Doodles. All the images are so darn cute, so hurry over to check them out and please be sure to check out the post below! This card was made using some SU papers, colored with copic marker, and the "rug" was made using an SU punch. Sweet little guy!
Nothing like a nice snowy day in Dallas for the first day of Spring! That's right, I'm looking out my window at snow. You know it is nice to look at, but it's cold as can be outside, so I think I'll just keep looking. It's suppose to nice and warm tomorrow, so I guess this will be it for a while. Back to the shorts weather by the middle of the week.
My poor little Granddaughter Madelyn is really sick. She has the H1N1 flu. They took her last night to the health clinic and tests confirmed it. She's on Temaflu, so hopefully she'll be feeling a lot better soon. It seems like the flu is starting up again. Just like last year.
Barry and I went to the County convention for Denton Dem's yesterday. How fun it was to be with people of like minds. Nobody telling me that I'm worth less then they are because they have health care, and I don't need it. Nobody to lie to me about the things in the bill. WOW, was it nice not to hear how our health care in TX is great. That's why we rank at the bottom of the barrel in providing health care to the people of Texas. Tomorrow my sign goes up for the next Governor of TX, Bill White!
I guess that's it for today. Barry and I will be staying in and getting some TV time in. I want to watch the debate and vote this afternoon and see the Maryland basketball game. And then after that the races and TX Ranger baseball are on. How much better can this day get!!!
Hugs,
P

Friends Are Unfrogettable!

Funny card? I thought so. This frog set always brings a smile to my face, and you gotta love the snail. Who does love a multi-colored little animal! The paper is a Spring pack from DCWV. The button came from a LARGE package I got at Wally World sometime ago. I got several packages for 1.99 each and they have tons of different color combo's.
Barry is off to school today and I'm trying to work on stuff for Whimise Doodle. We have a fun challenge coming up tomorrow, so please come back and play along.
Gotta run and do something before the mood passes. I have a very short attention span these days. If I stop too long, I start thinking about the bad stuff in my life and don't remember to count the blessings of my family and friends, so gotta go!

P

Sharing, Caring Cards From Friends

Today I'm sharing some beautiful cards that I received in the mail this week from friends. Aren't they wonderful! I got some more yesterday and I'll share those tomorrow. Linda sent Tilda, Sheri sent the little girl with the fun hat, and Gretchen sent the St Patty's Day card. Like I said, special!
Yesterday afternoon Barry and went to lunch with some special ladies as well. Tina (DIL), Madelyn, and her cousin Meritt. We love them all to death. Tina took us to the Supper Salad Bar. They have the best skinny pizza!
I did get a few cards made and will upload them later to ebay. I also got some fun things from the Whimsie Doodles design group. We're doing something fun on Saturday, so be sure to come back for that. HINT****Dig out an animal stamp!
Have a great day!

Happy St Patty's Day!

I know, it's not a beer drinkin' card, but it is a fun one anyway! I love this saying. It's Whimsie Doodles March release. I'm still having fun playing with my new toys!
In the last two days I've gotten so many wonderful cards and treats in the mail from friends. I will take pictures of them all and post those so you can see what beautiful gifts I've gotten. It really means so much to me to know that all these people care about me and my mental health. Maybe I should say what little is left of it! I've had friends tell me that they see a bright future for us, that they see the end of the long dark road. I've had friends tell me they are praying for us. I can't say how much all of this matters to me. It's really beyond words the love I have felt. Thank you so much. On a lighter note, I'd be happy if just one friend would send the winning Power Ball numbers! I'm happy to share with my 100 close friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm trying to create something today. I got one card done and only a few dozen left to go. I've sold a lot of Easter cards in my ebay store, but with the lower price, I have to sell double to make any money. So now I'm off to stamp.
Take care my friends and readers. You are all loved!
Hugs,
P

Enjoy the day!

Thank You For Your Love

Thank you friends for bearing with me and my troubles. Your kindness is what gets me through the dark times. Nothing has really changed. We're still in deep money trouble, and I don't know how that will end any time soon, but just knowing you care is wonderful and a blessing.
Hugs,
P

Break Needed

I'll be taking a blogging break for a few days. I really in need of some down time right now. Things aren't going well at all for us and I need to figure out how to get out from that black cloud that seems to never leave my side. Every day it's something new that comes along. I honestly don't know how to handle it anymore and so I thought I'd take a few days off. Please keep us in your prayers that an answer will come or at least a job for Barry.

Blessing,

P

My Pot Of Gold?

I keep looking, but I don't seem to be able to find it. I keep hearing stories on the tube about people finding theirs. "They" keep saying follow your dreams. Now is the time. It's a perfect time. So I keep looking. Ok, so now I've found the friends, but I still want the gold. I think I should be able to have both!
This card is made using digi stamps from Whimsie Doodles. If you've never tried them before, you can do so now and you'll be hooked! One of the fun things about digi stamps it that you can resize them to what you need. It's just another path in this fun craft. Do I love the smell of new rubber stamps? YES! I just like having it all! The plaid paper is from Basic Grey.
So what's up today? I have to finish working on my budget (joke) so Evan can see where he can help some more. There really is no budget. I just wing it at this time. I had money yesterday, but then we thought it would be nice to eat, and since we eat 3 meals a day at home, we went shopping for food at Wally World. We now have food, but no money! It's one or the other! At least I have 2.06 left! All I can say is sell, sell, sell!
The sun is coming out now and it's going to warm for a change today. I think I'll enjoy every minute of it and that will be my word of the day!
Hugs,
P

Dollar Daze

That's right, this card was made using a $ stamp from J's. I love it and I love how the card turned out. I saw a post over at Lisa Johnson's blog where she made a card using a similar layout and had to give it a try. I used some SU pp that I was send by my friend Pat. It's so pretty paired up with this stamp. The bling is from M's Dollar stuff as well. I'm just full of cheap stuff today! Notice the lace? More of that binding tape lace.
Today is Monday and I wonder just how crazy it can get. I was glad to see last week end. We had too many bad things happen. I'm sure more things will happen to make it a memorable week. They all seem to be these days, but I hope it waits a while before something bad happens. Money is always my #1 problem, and today is no different. Bills, food, gas, and medicine. Wouldn't it be nice for a change if you didn't have to worry what is going to be cut off for now. Hey, don't mind me...it's grey out today and I miss the sunshine. Life is always better in the sun. That's why Barry needs a job in Hawaii. I need the SUN!
Hugs and love to all,
P

Three Little Words!

Sometimes those 3 words are all you need to make it through the day. Sometimes you just need to hear somebody say them to you, and sometimes just having a friend say them makes it OK! I'm blessed to have not only good friends who say them, but family too. Some days have been almost more then I could stand and know that people care has made it easier to get through those days. This cute image and verse was sent to me from a good friend named Shelly. I was trying to make a card with a little different look then my usual. I know it still has buttons and bows, but it's just a bit different then my usual "Paula" style.
Today I'm just wondering if I'm going to do anything at all. It's raining in Dallas today, and that always makes me want to just curl up in bed and do nothing. I always feel bad if I don't make cards to sell in my ebay store, but since I only sold 1 card this weekend, I don't think I have to rush to add more! I think the dozen and a half can get along without any more company! What I think I need to do is see what other SU sets of stamps I can part with and add them. By the time Barry and I are able to have anything again, they'll be a whole new catalog to buy from! That as Martha says, is a good thing!
Hugs,
P

A Mixed Bouquet Day!

Do you remember this SU set of flower stamps? It's been on my shelf forever it seems and I keep picking it up and thinking I'm going to sell it, but then something says not to. I don't know why I've hung on to it, but then yesterday I was so tired of making cards with the same old stamps again and again, I pulled it out. It's really been out for a while. It's been the thing I sat the cards on before I've taken their pictures for the last month or so. A nice stand! After I stamped the flowers which are outlines, I used a water brush and just filled in the centers with the same colors of ink I used. The verse is from Verve. They have such nice one's!
Today Barry is out all day being a judge at a "thing" for Madelyn. She's in Destination Imagination. He wondered why he was doing it but then recalled because our son Larry asked him to! Being a good Dad, even to a 38 year old son is still his thing, so off he went. What a blessing for me. Not to have to worry about him all day. No lunch to make, no snacks to see after! So what am I going to do today? That wasn't really a question. More like a passing thought! Since I have no money to do a fun shopping day, I think I'll just chill out and do some crafting. Like that's something new for me! It seems like that's all I do. Stay home and make cards. Every day! Maybe something different today. Check back tomorrow and see what I've gotten done!
Have a great day!
Hugs,
P

It's A Whimsie Doodles New Day!

Guess what today is? It's a special day over at Whimsie Doodles because we have brand new stamps and digi images for you to take home and make your own! This months new releases are fun, fun, fun. Hurry over and take a peek at the newest things! Then run over to the Whimsie Doodles Blog so you can see all the other designers great work. We have so much to show you today! My card was made for St Patty's Day, but I think it would be a great card to give those "hard" to please guys in our lives for any number of things. Even just to say HI! The card was made using Basic Grey and some glitter for the beer!
It's finally Friday. It's been a busy week for me. I haven't gotten a lot done for myself, but I am happy that the week in winding down. There is nothing new in the job market, Barry is still in school, and I'm still trying to make ends meet! Nothing in life is easy, I know, but I would just like to have a whole week where nothing bad happens! A lovely customer and now a great friend of mine wrote to tell me that she "saw" something good was going to happen to us soon. I'm going with her feelings on this. I know our lives will turn around soon. I just have to have faith and a lot of hope. I sometimes lose sight of this, but I just have to have faith. We all do!
Bless you all for coming to visit and letting me share my gifts with you!
Hugs,
P

Still No Answers

To they whys of yesterday, but I am so grateful for the friends and family I have. No matter what happens, I know that they are there. Was yesterday a dark day for me. It's not really a question, just a statement of how my life has been lately. But with all that said, I know that people really care about us and love us! Are things any better today? No, nothing has really changed. Bills need to still be paid, school still needs to be finished, and I still have work to do. Wish as I might, no one comes in during the night and does the dirty clothes. Not one soul said they're be happy to rush over and do the dirty dishes, and to top that off, no one said they're come and pick up all the little white pop dot pieces of paper that I keep finding all over my carpet! They stick to everything! See, I can laugh at something. It's that or cry some more. Today seems to be one of those type of days. It's hard to take from other people, but I am so blessed to have help. Thank you one and all. As my mother used to say, you'd earned your star in heaven"!
Hugs,
P

Why?

Today is just one of those days when I need to ask myself WHY? Why does every other day seem like it's a struggle between me and losing it all? Why is that? I have no answer. I try and try to make a go of it. To get over the curve, and still, I fall behind. Last week it was the cell bill. This week it's the water bill that I'm falling short over. I have tried for a week to get the money together for this, and still I'm not doing a good enough job! I'm still trying to sell enough to get the last $35 together! I am so tired of being tired. Does that make sense at all? And to top it off today we have a primary election in Texas that will change nothing! We have a Governor in our state who goes around saying Texas is a state that should be held up as an example of what's working in America! The joke of this is that for many Texans it's not working. I have no health care. I can't find a job, and I feel like I'm lost in the system of losers. Almost 20% of people in our country are either unemployed or underemployed or like many, just dropped out of anything, and yet, nothing is being done! I voted for a change last year. I think the country is as tired as I am and needs change. Please Hurry UP!

It's A Two Jelly Belly Kind Of Day!

Can you believe it's March already? Where is the year going? Why am I so far behind? Do you ask yourself these questions too? Ok, sorry it was another question! It's raining in Dallas today. In fact, as Barry told me, it rained all night. I was sleeping like a log, as usual, but Barry heard it and if you have a hubby, you know where this is leading---it's an all about ME (Barry) moment! He overslept---A. The rain, B. He didn't feel "good", again, or C. Just Because? Those are the questions, or should I say the answers! Enough of Barry, it's my blog. Do you like the card? It's a fun Whimsie Doodles image. I have to say it again, if you haven't tried them, do so now. There's a freebie you can even try them with. You will see how great it can be to resize them, or even flip them if you want. It's beyond me right now to do everything with them, but if I can at 60 learn a new trick, anyone can!
So, what are you up to today? I'm guessing the usual Monday stuff. Wash, clean, play in the craft room? And it doesn't have to be in that order! I'm trying to do all of that, but I have to admit, the TV is calling me this morning. I got the trash out, the dishwasher up, and even made a St Patrick's Day card, but now I think I'm in need of a nap. After all, Barry didn't sleep well and I should have some benefit from that!!
Have a safe and happy day,
Hugs,
{P
