Dancing In The Rain

Oh yea baby, we've had some rain in Dallas today. At least at my house and for that I'm thankful. We had to turn the water sprinklers on. I hate those high summer water bills, but I don't want to lose my lawn either.
Can you see the new paper lurking under the stamped image? It was some that I got on Saturday at the new LSS. I used one of the new SU colors for the yellow to make it POP! The girl is a well used stamp from Inky Antics and the verse is from my new Verve set. I was finally able to use a GC that I won in the fall.
What a lazy day it's turning out to be. I should be working but that doesn't seem to be happening. Instead I've watched some shows on the DVR and started the wash. Now I have to put it in the dryer and get a shower. Barry has a meeting tonight, but it's only a short one, so he'll be home for a late dinner. Bummer! Maybe left over meat balls from last night will work for him. I'm still wondering what I'm going to have for lunch!
Have a fun evening and stay safe!
Hugs!

Because I'm still trying to figure out to make blogger work for me, I was only able to upload a few of the pages from my little mini project I did yesterday. The whole book can be seen over at my eBay store. All you have to do is click on the link at the right side of this page and it will take you there. While surfing the blogs I saw that another blogger had made a book using this method and thought I'd give it a try. I took my largest square nestie and cut out 4 pieces of white chipboard. It's the board that comes in the SU paper packs. Then I used the same nestie to cut out the background pieces of paper. That way you know they will fit perfectly. I used a few of my Riley's to dress up the pages, and even cut the perfect picture sizes so pictures can be added in a simple way. All you have to do is trace and cut. I took an old key chain apart and used the hook to hold all the pages together.
Yesterday was a nice quite day at our house. Barry slept late and then in the afternoon we went to the newest LSS in our area. It's about 30 minutes from us. The store is small and she only has a limited amount of paper, but what the owner has is wonderful. I bought some papers that I hadn't seen before. 8 new pieces came home with me. NO ribbon. I was a good girl!
We went out to dinner with Evan last night to Sweet Tomato. It's a supper salad type of place. All the good healthy things you could want. And we wanted a lot!
Today the only thing we have planned to get out to my friends house and get my new SU paper and take a peek at her new SU catalog. Can't wait!
Have a good day!

The Wind In My Hair!

Moose Baby is takin' a ride and lettin' the wind blow through his hair or maybe that's his ears! It's sad that I forgot I even had this stamp until I saw a card posted on Cindy's blog using the stamp and rememberd that I owned it too! Hey, I like my little version of it too. I used some SU papers from last year callled Cutie Pie. I enjoy the colors of the paper and besides, I have a lot leftover, so I'm busy trying to use it up. I posted it in my eBay store, if you'd like to take a look. After all, it can't hurt!
Not much planned for today. Barry needs to get some much needed sleep. He's beat. I was that way yesterday. I think the heat and all the stress has caught up with us and now it's time to unwind. It's OK if he sleep a while longer by me. I'm playing in ink and paper (and my blog!)! I would like to get to the newest LSS today and see what they have. It's a drive for us, but BB is such a sweety, I know he'll drive me. I also need to get to my GF's house and pick up some new SU papers she got. Can't wait to see the catalog too.
That's it from the Bloom Zoo for today. Have a wonderful weekend. Stay cool and Hugs to all!

Yup, it's the good ole summer time in Texas! We're suppose to have tripe digit 1's today. 111. It's a good day to try and stay cool. The day started as usual. I was making Barry an egg for breakfast and then taking care of the toast, when I forgot about the egg and it started to burn and make a lot of smoke in the kitchen. Barry opened the back door and much to our surprise, a cute little bunny was having breakfast on our lawn! He stayed in the same spot eating the weeds until breakfast was over and Barry left for school. It was so much fun to see him out there. I miss having a pet. We had cats for so long and enough the warm and love of a pet, but who knows how I would ever pay even for the food now, so the bunny was fun to enjoy.

Barry heard from TX Unemployment yesterday about an appeal date. It's July 7. Almost 2 months after he started school. It's been so long coming, with them losing the paper work and having to play games with them, but I'm hoping something good will happen. We also got a check from the state for several weeks of payments. It said we don't have to pay it back. It's from something called Emergency Funding. Boy did we ever need that. I don't know what to do first. Pay some bills or get some groceries. A little of both I'm sure. Barry is still in school. It's going really slow for him right now. He just can't seem to put into action what he learns. I know Barry and know that part of that is really in his head. When he explains it to me, even I can understand it, but when he goes to write the programs for web development, he freezes. I hope with time, he'll get better. He just has to!

Did you like my little girl? Another image that was colored with copic markers and mounted on pop dots. I found this paper from Scenic Route that I bought last year in FL.

Well, I'm off to the bank to deposit the check before it turns to clay! Have a great day and thank you all for keeping us in your prayers. I know they are helping.

Hugs!

Big, Bold,& Bright

Isn't this paper fun? I found a bit of it in my stash and thought it would be so "summery"! Mr Crabby has been around awhile, but always cheers me up. I'm not sure about the flower, but it's already glued on and it's been sold, so I'm sure it's working just fine!
I don't know where my MOJO has gone, but it seems to have left me short! I've made 3 cards in two days. I know I need to step it up, but my mind just doesn't seem to have it going right now. Maybe it's the 100 plus temps we're having in Dallas right now. Maybe I'm just tried of looking at the same stamps and paper. Whatever it is, it needs to leave!!! I've got work to be done.
I'm trying to see about teaching a class on stamping next month. I've never done that, so I'm a little unsure of how to go about it. I thought I'd make the postcard set including the holder, and then a few cards. I've told the interested party that it would have to be a class of at least 4. Since I'll supply the material, I have to make sure I include that amount in the cost of the class. I'm sure I'll figure it out. I just hope they like what they make.
Let's see, what else is new. My GF got her new SU catty yesterday and her order of some of the new stuff. I can't wait to see that. I'll have to wait until Saturday. It will be hard. Then she heard there will be a mini catty coming out July 1. MOre ways to spend our money. Now I have to figure out a way to make more!
We're having hot dogs and baked fries for dinner tonight. I'm not really into cooking right now, but Barry has a nasty habit of wanting to eat every night. I've tried for almost 39 years to break the habit, but nothing works! Well, at least he's not a picky eater. Anything that moves is ok.
Have a wonderful day and please continue those prayers. I really, really need them.
Hugs!

Butterfly's Are Free

Everyone who knows me, knows I love the Tilda stamps, but she has a brother and his name is Edwin. Today he's catching butterflies. This image was sent to me with others as an RAK. He's running off the page to catch is prey today. I cut the image out and then just mounted him with pop dots. I don't know where I would be without my Martha butterfly punch. I use it everyday. The plaid paper is the last from a DCVW stack and who knows where the polka dot came from, but it goes well with the plaid.
Last night we went to a Lion's Club installation dinner. It was nice to see friends. The dinner was OK. It was a Greek type of restaurant. Not my cup-of-tea, but OK anyway. One of the ladies there wanted to see about me making cards using a Greyhound dog. They have several and are involved in a rescue program with them. I found a whole lot of greyhound stamps this morning online. I emailed her the site and now I'm waiting to see what interest her. Something different is always good.
Barry is off to school today. I hope for the whole day. I have lots of stamping to get done, but first I need to go and buy some glue and pop dots. They are staples of my creating! I sold a few cards last night to another friend and now have to replace them for sale on eBay. I'm planning on making Chicken Fried Rice tonight for dinner. It's so easy and good to eat. Barry likes egg rolls with that so frozen will do. The only egg rolls I really enjoy eating are from Jack n' Box. I know they aren't very Chinese, but that's OK. My tummy doesn't really like all the Chinese veggies!
Have a great day and stay cool!
Hugs!

I MADE IT!

Oh Yea, Kim and I made the next round of the Hanna Stamps designer contest! I waited and waited, and waited some more last night and finally it was posted over at SCS. Now to wait until Kristi comes back from vacation and sends along a nice new set of stamps to create with! Congrats to everyone who entered. It really takes guts to even get that far.
We had a nice lazy day yesterday for Father's Day. We slept late, had a late breakfast and even later lunch and then Evan picked us up for dinner. It's so nice when the kids come and get you. We met up with the rest of the family at Red Lobster. Barry was in heaven. The kids and seafood! I had chicken because I don't eat seafood, but since they all enjoy it, it works out just fine. My Madelyn was as cute as ever. Her cousin who is 10 was coming to spend the week at her house, so Madelyn was ready to eat and leave. I remember how fun it was to spend time with older cousins. They are so neat and so loving. I still love mine!
My day started out just fine. I ordered a new set of stamps and some buttons from MFT. I was finally able to use my gift certificate I got way back when. The new Rainy Day Girl is so cute and since my friend Gretchen was getting it, I thought I needed it too. I also ordered Spring and Summer buttons. I can never have too many of those. I love the "finishing" touch that buttons add to a project!
Like my coffee cups? I think it's a fun card and could be for a guy as well as a gal. I used some more of that stash of Basic Grey papers. I'm even trying to use the solid colors in the back of the packs. I'm a woman on a mission!
Well, now I'm off to do some work. I've got the trash out, wash going, and made two cards. I hope I'm on a roll. I have to take a break soon and head to M's for pop dots. I won't get far without them! Have a great day and stay cool. It's going to be a hot one again in Dallas!

Let's Dance

Life is too darn short not to kick up your heels sometimes and dance! At least that's what Sophie the Moose believes in! This is my last entry into the Hanna Stamps guest designer contest. I used an fun set of stamps from SU for the verse. It's been retired for a few years, but I like all the little saying it has in it. The paper is from a DCWV pad. Can't use up that darn stuff. I wasn't sure about the flower. I'm of a mind that not every card needs a flower or ribbon, but it seems that's what the paying customers like, so I add them all the time.

Not much else is going on in the Bloom Zoo today. It's going to be another lazy day. Barry slept late so he didn't go to any of the 3 Lion's events he could have. Oh well, I guess I have him for the day!

Tomorrow we're going to have dinner with the kids at Red Loboster for Father's Day. It's always nice to be with the whole gang and not have to do the dishes.

Have a fun weekend!

Hugs!

Where did the week go? Since I only got one comment on the last post, let me say how sorry I am that I must have killed off some of my readers! For those of you new to this blog, let me be the first to say how sorry I am! LOL! Remember I did ask you to leave a comment, knowing full well it could kill you if you didn't! And to think I've only had one cup of coffee this morning!

Do you like this card? I have several old SU sets that have beach scenes. I like them. They make me feel good. I love the water and the beach, so this card made me feel good when I made it.

It must be my lucky day because early this morning I got a PM from a friend over at SCS. She has Baja Breeze card stock! I know in the big picture of life it's not all that important, but it would be nice to have some and not have to worry about matching up with all the printed paper I still have left that matches this card stock. With money so tight, I don't know how I'll buy anything new when the new catalog comes out. I have to get busy making TONS more cards to do that!

Barry is at school today and I'm free to do whatever. Whatever usually means making cards, watching the news, and running to the post office. Boy do I have a great life! Today I have to stop at the office supply store and buy black ink for the printer. Barry is our #1 printer. He prints everything. I, on the other hand, hardly ever print. The thing is, he also saves the stuff he prints out in files! He's very old school about that!

Have a wonderful day and stay safe. Don't forgot those prayers. I think they're helping!

Pot Full of Flowers

What do you think? I saw lots of flower pot cards over at SCS and printed out a template for one, but I thought it seemed so small. After looking at the thing for days, I finally cut out the front of the pattern and made a half pot! I like the way it turned out. I found some little safety pins in my stash and added the tag. The paper is SU and so are the flowers. They're from images stamped by my friend the other day.
The fence man just arrived at our house and it's only 8 AM. It going to be another hot day in Dallas so I guess he's getting an early start to the day.
The kids are taking us out to an early dinner for Sunday for Father's Day. Red Lobster is one of Barry's favorite places to go. If you can't have fresh seafood in Maui, I guess it's OK. I can't decided what to make for Barry or Larry for Father's Day. I don't have a clue. I wish I was better at print shop. I had an idea of putting together lots of small pictures and printing it. Then I could cut it into the mug shape I've got sitting on my shelf, but it all sounds like too much work! Maybe a card will just have to do!
I put lots of cards on my eBay site yesterday. One customer admitted she's addicted! I know how she feels. I think I'm addicted to making them. I feel bad if I don't do any each day. Well I'm glad that customers enjoy the little darlings as much as I do making them. I'm really trying to use different sets to make card and boy am I using up some older Basic Grey papers. I love those little 6x6 pads and they always have so many sheets in them. I don't think I've ever used every sheet up in any yet. The pile keeps growing!
For those liver fans out there, I'm making chopped liver for dinner. We really enjoy it and today seemed as good as any. I've already made the hard boiled eggs and later I'll fry up the meat and grind it up. I use calf's liver. It's a milder taster and makes a great sandwich.
Have a great day and hurry back. Try and leave a comment. It won't kill ya!

The Owls Are In

Aren't they cute? They are some more images that I got from my friend Gretchen last week. They're from Inky Antics. The plaid paper is from more DCWV scraps and who knows where the blue gingham paper came from. It really was a tiny, tiny scrap of paper that fit just right!
Today is going to be near 100 again in Dallas so I'll be staying inside to keep cool. I do have to run to the post office. I've been putting it off for a few days. I'm sure the people who bought my cards on ebay want to know where they are. They're coming! I got five cards made yesterday. Not nearly enough, so I'll be working my little fingers to the bone again today. If only my fingers would work right. They get that "old-timers" thing going and don't always want to bend the way they need to cut paper! Oh well, at least I still have all of them!
Barry is off to school for a whole day. (I hope) He had some problems yesterday and he always looks at the dark side when that happens. I keep trying to tell him if he didn't mess up, how would he know how to fix it! Hey, I keep messing up and I keep trying to fix things!
So, what are you up to this summer? We have no plans. I'd love to fly out of Dallas and land on a beach somewhere, but I don't see that happening unless someone offers Barry a job in Maui! Anyone out there with a job at the beach? Please let us know. We'll get our bags packed and on a plane in a hurry! Wouldn't that be the life? I could become a beach bum in no time flat! I have all I need for that job. A big hat, a bathing suit, and a pair of shoes I can go in the water with! See, I'm ready!
Off I go into the world of creating now. I have a full pot of coffee and away I go!!
Have a great day and hugs to you all!

Gee, Tuesday Already!

Where is the week getting to? It's Tuesday already and I'm still doing Monday's chores! I have so much to do today, I may still be working on last weeks! At least it feels like it.

Barry is off to school for most of the day today. Yesterday he only did half a day and the rest was spent doing unemployment stuff and studying at home. I love him dearly, but I have a hard time working when he's home. I feel like I shouldn't get so messy. I tend to spread out a lot when I work and he doesn't understand that. I did get a half dozen cards made. A few are still over at my eBay store if you want to take a look. This is one. I'm still on my "use the stash" thing and found this small piece of plaid from a DCWV stack in the pile. I got several cards made using bits and pieces of it. I love this blue ribbon and saved a tiny tiny piece on my desk. It worked perfect for this card. The stamps are SU. They never go out of style.

I'm going to try and work on a few cards and then maybe take a break today. I've been looking for my mojo for about a week and it seems to be half missing. That is the half that needs to be working! I think a good book or even a nasty book is in order for the day. It's going to be 100 in Dallas today so I'm thinking Evan apartment pool sounds good.

Have a great day and stay safe!

Monday, June 15, 2009

When it's only the little things left in life, we should enjoy them. I find that with less money to do things, we'd had to adjust to making do with those "small things"! On Saturday we headed off to a wonderful Art Fest in downtown Dallas. It was free except for parking. It was either park at a lot for $8 or find street parking. The parking God was with us that day. We found a meter and spend 4 quarters on the parking. How did we know it was going to be such a hot and humid day. We didn't and it was! We got all kinds of freebies including movie tickets, a free sandwich ticket at Potbelly's, and even a free light bulb at the electric company! I did spend a few dollars on Kettle Corn. By the time we left and walked back to the car, we were spent! We rested all day yesterday and now I need to make up the time and make some cards to sell this week.

We had another surprise when we got home on Saturday. I told you part of my fence came down in the storms last week and so did my next door neighbors. She had someone fixing her fence on Saturday and Larry (sweet oldest son) paid the man to fix ours as well! He said it's his Father's Day present to his Dad. How's that for a sweet day! And this layout was perfect for adding some Prima Flowers.

Barry's gone off to school today for at least 1/2 day. Every other week he has to turn in his signed attendance for school and get his gift certificate's for gas. They give him enough for getting around to school. It really helps. We've only had to buy gas once in the last month.

The card I posted in a simple one to make. I still enjoy using this set from SU. Well, I'm off to work on something today. Have a wonderful day and hurry back. I love seeing comments if anyone leaves one.

Hugs!

Life Can Be So Sweet

Yesterday was one of those really "happy" type of days. The sunshine came out both on the day and in my life. Of course my day is always sweet when Barry goes off to school for the day and I have the day to myself, but after that it only got better. My very good friend Gretchen (now known only as "G") called to invite me out for lunch. Not only lunch but she shared with me some much needed card stock and stamped images, and took me to a favorite LSS! I had such a good time! She treated me to a bunch of new papers and pearls and even a bottle of glitter glue! Then it was off to a hamburger place for lunch! See the card I made? I borrowed a set from her and made this card. I saw the original somewhere in blog land, and I'm sorry I don't know who to give the credit too, but this is my version of the card. I am so happy with how it came out, I'm in the middle of making another one. When I say the middle, I mean just that. I started making a second card this morning and after I had gotten the green layer glued down, it wasn't straight! I hate when that happens. I could have tried to fix it, but it was hopeless. In to the round bin it went! So now I'm going to try again!
I did say my day was filled with sunshine didn't I. Last night Larry (oldest son) called to ask us if we wanted to go to our favorite local Pizza place. His wife and daughter are out of town visiting friends and he wanted company, so off we went. He even picked us up! He does only live around the corner from us! It was so nice to have dinner with just him. I love his family, but he is my son and I do enjoy his company!
So now I'm off to create and then when Barry gets up to work on fixing the fence. Half of ours came down in the storm. Our whole neighborhood looks the same. Pieces of fence down all over.
Have a great weekend! Please keep those good thoughts and prayers coming my way. I think they are helping!

It's Been A Hard Day's Night

And now I'm dreamin' of the beach! I love living in Dallas but I hate not having the beach right around the corner! I grew up going to the Jersey shore every summer. My family had those old hotels there and then as a teen going to Ocean City, MD as soon as the season started. When we lived in Tampa we were on the water and then had to only drive 10 minutes to see the sandy shore. I can never understand how someone whats to pay to get cold. I mean snow is so COLD!
These two cards are some more I entered into the Hanna Stamps Guest Designer contest. Moose people make me happy. These darling little guys went on eBay last night and they've been sold already! That just means I have to make more, and more, and more! It reminds me of that song Off To Work We Go!
It's very early in the morning right now, so I think my bed must be calling me back. Barry left early for school. He's got an all-day thing going on at school. They are having a bunch of people come in and speak about different area's of IT and they are also severing lunch for everyone. It should be a nice break for Barry.
Have a wonderful day!

Rain, Rain Go Away

It's about you could do last night and the early hours of today was sit back and try to drink a cup of hot coffee! We had some really bad storms roll through our area last night. We had our back fence go down, again, and a few bushes bend a little too much, but other then lots of water in the back yard, we're OK! The winds were about 60 mph last night. I woke during the night to the sounds of the continuing storm. It seems like the worse is over now.

I made this card several weeks ago because I thought it was a little different. I still have some of the scraps on my desk so I think I'm going to have recreate another one. It's another old set from SU. I just can't let go of several old sets. They seem to warm my heart when I look at them.

Barry spoke again with the lady from unemployment yesterday. He had to fax the appeal papers to her. The papers seem to lost in the system somewhere! It is a mess, but at least we seem to have someone working for us instead of against us now who is in high places. She's going to get us some money. Barry is owed one week of unemployment from his last week at WalMart. He's really owed the whole month, but that's something we still have appeal. I just want my life back.

I spoke with my good buddy Gretchen last night. I guess neither one of us has been in the mood to be friendly. She's been stressed about work and hopefully she's start to feel better when things settle down at her work. She's a good friend and stamping buddy. Barry always says when she calls that I've spoken with my "lost" daughter! She seems to always check in the same evening Evan does.

Today I'm working on some more cards. It's my life's work. I've decided that when Barry goes back to work full time, I'm taking a week off. I don't want to look at paper or rubber that week. I'm thinking sun and fun! Maybe Evan's apartment pool!

Take care and keep those prayers coming. I know they are helping. They always do!

Hugs!

Can I Make Another Day???????????

Please tell me I'll make it through the day! My day starts early, way too early and seems to never end! It's only 9:30 and I feel like I'm done for the day! I've spoken with too many bill collectors this morning and have too little money. I NEED to win the LOTTO! Ok, so first I would have to have a dollar to play, but that being said, if I had a $ I would like to win!!

I'm trying to work on cards this morning. I fell behind yesterday when Barry came home at lunch and never went back to school. He was having a bad day. It seems he has a lot of them with school. People at school keep telling him he's thinking too much and just not doing it enough, but he's the old dog who thinks he knows how to do something and when it doesn't work, he wants to give up! That is not going to happen on my watch!!

I put 21 cards on eBay yesterday and only have 4 left unsold today! That's such a good feeling to know your work is being sought after. I think it's the price. They customers are getting a great card for a value price. I love my little bee card I made this week. He's coming to visit for the July 4th holiday or whatever---I just know he's going to a good home!

Well, nothing else new in our world. I'm off to finish up some projects. It's become my life!!

Hugs and blessings to you all!

Pretty New Cards

I've been so busy making cards the last few days and this morning I uploaded 21 cards and a set of postcard notes on my eBay store. It took forever to list them. I have them all going on auction at one time. I've found it's easier to do this because a few times I've been busy listing them and they had been sold while I'm doing that. Now that's a good thing, as Martha says, but then when I can't find the listings, I get freaked out! This card is one of those for sale today. I wish I could bring myself to make more of this style. I really enjoy the simple lines but then I get carried away with flowers, ribbon, and anything else I can fit on a card, so it doesn't always work for me. I think this card does work. I used some Hero Arts stamps for the verses and SU printed paper for the body.
Not a whole lot new in the Bloom world. I did hear from the writer I emailed yesterday and she's going to forward my email to the Texas Workforce and see what they can find out. I hope that helps. Any type of help is welcome.
Barry had a hard day at school yesterday. The work is so new and different for him that I think he "over" thinks the process sometimes. It will come to him I'm sure.
Today I need to pick up a few things at the store and mail a few packages. Other then that, I'm busy again working on more cards to sell. SELL is my new Motto!! Sell is good! Sell is happy!! Get my meaning?
Have a great day!
Hugs!

Look Into The Ball, Tell Me What Today Will Bring

Today started out as usual. 6 and the alarm goes off. I get up, make Barry something to eat and read the paper. Nothing out of the usual. Then there's an article in the Business section of the paper about going back to school for more training. They interview a gentleman at Barry's school and had a picture. The back of Barry's head was in the picture! I wrote a nice note to the lady who wrote the story and told her about how this whole program is not really working and she's going to forward my story to someone at Texas Workforce. So now we'll see if it does any good or what. I only know that I'm getting very tired of the whole thing. I want the winning LOTTO numbers---so dear readers---give them up!!!
Yesterday we had a nice brunch with Evan. He's so sweet to treat his parents every so often. He's good company and we love to see him. When things were good I always had the family over for dinner all the time. I enjoy my family. Maybe soon again we'll be able to it again. The rest of the day we just were plain old lazy. Barry took several naps in front of the TV and I worked on a few cards. I'm trying to get several dozen done so that I can upload them after I pay my eBay bill. I'm hoping that's today or tomorrow. I've got about 20 cards done right now. It's a good thing I have so much printed paper in my stash. As soon as some money comes in I need to order some card stock. I use it up like water!
I'm off to the post office now. I sold a few things and need to get them in the mail. I got most of the wash done this morning and the dishwasher is washing. Have a great day and continue to say a prayer or two for me. They just might be helping!
Hugs!

Good Day Sunday

Have you used this layout? It was on SCS several weeks ago and I've fallen in love with it. It's clean and works with almost any papers. I've changed it up a bit (big surprise), but it's the look that counts! I used an older set of SU stamps for the verse and some Basic Grey papers. I found just the right Prima flowers in a Halloween bottle!

Last night we went to a Lion's Club cookout. It was so nice to see some of the wives that I only get to see once or twice a year. We sat and talked, eat, and talked some more. I bought along my cards and got lots of wonderful comments. One of the guys picked the one above up and said it should be in a frame! The steaks were cooked to perfection and the baked potatoes just right. It was a good evening to forget your troubles and just have fun!

Today is a lazy day. We were suppose to get together with Evan but I don't know if we'll do that. I'm trying to talk Barry into going swimming at Evan's pool. They have such a nice one at his apartment and it's right outside his door! We'll see is the word for today!

I guess that's it for now. Have a great Sunday and don't forget to say a blessing or two!

Hanna Stamps Guest Designer Contest

GI Jon is marching to a different drummer! Hanna Stamps is having a contest for several new guest designers starting in September and the best part is getting free stamps. Working with a great company is the icing on the cupcake! Kristi is so fun and really the best lady! So I think I'll try my hand at the contest and see what happens! I don't know who made the paper I used. I found the two small scraps in my stash drawers and thought it would be great for this card. I punched the stamps with my SU star punch. Nothing very hard in making this card so that makes it more special.
Nothing new in the world of the Bloom's. Barry finished up another week of school and is still having a hard time. I think he "over" thinks the problems sometimes, but he did say it's getting a bit easier. I've been busy making cards to post next week when I can pay my eBay bill. We are going to a Lion's Club steak cookout tonight. The club is providing the whole dinner except desserts. I don't have a clue as to what I'm taking yet. Barry is off at a Lion's activity right now and I've had a nice morning to myself. Now I need to work some more and post my Riley card over at SCS.
Have a great weekend!

Yea, It's Friday

It's only 10 AM, so I guess it doesn't count as the week over yet, but there is hope! We still don't know for sure about Barry's unemployment, but we got another letter yesterday from a different office and they said he would continue to draw his unemployment! Now of course, we have no clue as to what is happening! We just have to wait and see if money is in our account!

The big scrapbook show is in town this weekend. I wish I was able to go and see all the neat stuff they always have at the show, but I can't pay $15 just to walk in the room. Between five for parking and ten for the show, it's too much money. I wonder if they'll be as many people attend the show this year. I went last year and came away with some new goodies, and now I should use some of them! Do you squirrel away you supplies? I do with some. I'm always concerned if I open the package (of anything) I won't be able to get more. It doesn't matter if there's another hundred in the package---it will be open!

I'm still trying to figure out how to use this new blogger blog. It's very different from type pad. Not near as easy, but it's free, so I'll adjust! I've posted a really cute card made using Riley the Moose at the Beach. The verse is from Verve Stamps. They have some of the best verse's around and I think you can't have too many of them. The stripe and flowered paper is from DCWV and the orange paper is from a scrap on my desk. I'm sorry I don't have a clue from who.

Well, I'm off to create a few more cards today. Tomorrow we have a Lion's Club picnic and I thought I'd take a few along with me. Maybe someone will be interested in buying them. I don't think so 'cause they are hurting just like the rest, but you never know!

Blessing to you all!

Black Clouds, Go Away!

I just want the ones that are hanging over us to leave. Is that too much to ask? I don't think so. We're nice enough folks. We do good things in our community. We love our kids, so why is this happening? I have no answers and it seems like no one else does either. That's the sad part. A nation, a world with no answers. What happen to all the people out of work, what happens to them when they have no money to save their house. The only answers I hear are all the same. And this is a kicker! "Don't you have family you can ask for help?". That's the only thing I've heard from people! Gosh, and to think I wasn't bitter before. I'm trying to stay upbeat because the only other thing to be is down and hiding under the bed.

I've sold some more cards on eBay, but even that's on hold until I pay my back payments to them. I can't even earn any more money selling cards! Thank Goodness I have some money from all the one's I've been selling. I just need to continue making the cards until I can pay this weekend what I own on my selling of items. Then it's out for the kill, or should I say killer day of selling!

I made this card using the prettiest pieces of paper from Basis Grey. I just love the way this card turned out. Someday I'm going to have to have another package of this paper. I'm sure different one's will come out between then and now. I used an SU set of stamps and of course, my ever handy Martha butterfly punch.

So much for my sad story. I'm tired of telling it and I'm even more tired of living it. I want to win the Lotto. If anyone has some winning numbers out there to share, feel free. I won't tell anyone!! I'll even share!

Blessings to you all!

Can We Make It Over The Hump?

My Tilda girls are so sweet! I even found a way to add a little "Bloom" into the card!
I can't believe the week isn't over yet. That it's only the middle of the week. It's been the week from Hell so far. On Monday we had Maddy to babysit. All was well and good with that. She's always a tweet to be with. Then we got some mail from TX Unemployment to say they aren't going to pay for his unemployment while Barry is in school!! His goes against everything he was told when signing up for the program. After all, it's a program run through the state of Texas! So now he has to appeal, but we have no money coming in without these payments! Can you believe how stupid we think this is? Yesterday I called our State Rep and they are looking into the matter. I always called the company that makes the bags Barry wears every day for the rest of his life and they are going to give us a free box of 10 for the next six months! After I spoke with their Customer Service, I just cried. It doesn't solve the money problems, but it does help so much!
When Barry finally went to school yesterday afternoon we spoke with several other people that are in the same program and some had gotten the same type of letter and some are still getting their unemployment! So now we have to see where we go from here. He can't quite school or he would have to pay back the $7200 it cost!
I've been trying to create, but it's been hard to sit down and make cards. I did get 5 done yesterday and 1 this morning. Now I need to make another dozen or so. They're selling well over at eBay.

Now I'm off to the races and see what other shoe will fall today! Say a prayer for us. I know I don't usually ask, but prayers are about all we have left!

I'm still playing around with blogger trying to get it set up. It was mess this morning. Things all over the place, but thanks to the Google Help, I was able to restore some order!
This card is one I made over the weekend and will be on my eBay store later today. http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Love-Blooms-In-Me__W0QQ_armrsZ1
Our world is still a zoo, but I'm too tried to even think about it this morning. I'm babysitting Madelyn after school today. Her parents are busy, busy, busy, so the Grandparents get to watch her. We have to have her to gym at 6:30. What a treat!!
I'm off to try and craft some more.
Have a great day!
