Take Me Away!

I'm must be dreaming of Maui! It's our favorite place we've ever been to for a vacation. We just love the Islands. Hey, after working where I'm working, a girl has to hang on to the dream! It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It was just plain old bad! I got to work at 5:30. I have to be there at 5 from now on. At 1 said they you HAVE to work 2 hours overtime. Guess who said NO WAY! They kindly said OK and I went home. I stood for 7 1/2 hours today. It was hot and lousy. The work was OK. Nothing too hard. I mostly got to check the functions on Blackberry's, but it's the standing that's a killer. My feet are no spring chickens! I sure hope somebody else calls about another job soon. Until then, I don't really have a choice.
That was my fun day. We're still working on the house stuff. I'll let you know how that goes too. It's time to call it a night. 4 AM comes early.
Love and Hugs to all!

Surfer Girl

Well today is my last day of freedom. Tomorrow I start work at 5:30 AM at the job from HELL! I was hoping against hope that somebody else would call and offer a job or at least an interview, but that didn't happen. So now I'm going to start working tomorrow at the packing cell phone job! I just want to cry every time I think about the job. I can hardly walk on my feet now and after a trip to Sam's, I have to stay off my feet for a few hours. I worked a lot of years in retail and now I'm feeling the effects. Barry just says "now I know how he feels"! HE'S NOT WORKING! I don't know what he's waiting for. I did speak to him about seeing if WM will rehire him, but he didn't do anything about it yet. Can you tell I'm on EDGE?
I got all the wash done today and now I'm cooking dinner. I made a few cards yesterday and today. This is one I made this morning using a very old set of SU stamps. I think they are called Aloha. I can't part with the set. I found the small scrap of plaid paper and thought it would be nice and bright to use on this card. I love how it turned out.
Well, I'm off to finish up my chores. Have a great evening and I'll let you know how tomorrow goes.
Love & Hugs!

Sittin' On Top of The World

At least Tilda is sitting on top! Me, not so much! At least it's Friday. That being said, it's only 8:30 in the morning and that leaves a lot of the day yet to go wrong! I tried to work on cards this morning and I'm out of blades for the cutter. The one I have now is tearing up the edges of the paper. Not a pretty look when you don't want the shabby look! I'm waiting until J's opens up at 9. I have a 50% off coupon and thought I'd hurry on over and use it on a package of blades. Then no excuse not to create! OK, maybe one, but lose of MOJO doesn't count! Tilly is a 6x3 card and I used the tall and skinny spellbinder die. On this size card it doesn't leave much room for extras so I just added the double bows.
Barry went off to school bright and early. I hope he stays a while today. He has a bad habit of only doing a 1/2 day this week. I know he's worried about money and all, but he really needs to stay in school.
I got a call about a job yesterday. It's not one that I really want, but I don't have a choice at this point. I'm hoping McDonald's will call today. They would be better then the job I'm suppose to start on Monday. It's standing all day for 8-10 hours a day, in a production line, packing cell phones. I WANT A JOB IN THE CREATIVE FIELD! So much for creating! Well, if nothing else comes up today, that job is it. Just can't wait!
We don't have plans for the weekend. Just to stay home and not spend any money. It's sounds like a plan to me. Have a good day and hurry back. I've sent out enough email that are suppose to bring me good luck, good love, and peace, so now I'm going to wait for that all to happen!
Peace and Love to All who enter!

It Must Be The Heat

The temp in Barry's car last night read 107 and I can believe it! The heat just zaps everything out of me, or else it's all the stress I'm feeling. It's got to be one of those! Like my card? I received this image last summer from my friend Peggy Briggs. She sent me so many that I have a few still floating around. They are such a darling couple. The card is 5x5. I used a back round stamp from SU for the words. I hardly ever use those nice big back round stamps anymore. It's usually just printed papers, but I liked the idea of the "love" and wanted a nice clean look for this card. I used a few scraps I found on my desk of some PP and a few flowers. My new love, a 3-1 Martha Butterfly Punch. I found it last month with one of those nice coupons and have enjoyed using it ever since.
So now you might be interested in hearing the latest tale of woe from the Bloom Zoo. I won't bore you with ALL the details, but just leave it that I've applied for a few more jobs! I spend a long time up in Denton working with the nicest lady on my application for work and looking up jobs. It might seem just looking at the list that there is TONS of jobs, but so many I don't have anything that they are looking for! Most where with recruiters and they all want you to come and in apply. I'm going tomorrow morning to do that again! I feel like I know my own life story so well now. This morning I applied with CVS and Walgreen's. They both are close to me and they would work just fine.
We're still working on the loan thing for the house. More problems of course. We had a mortgage that was with Countrywide and now is Bank of America, but the problem is that it's still a Countrywide Mortgage. They make you jump through a million hoops to try and get help. I swear I don't know what we're going to do. I don't even hold out hope on anything anymore. We may be out in the street in a few weeks. Who knows at this point? I've heard it said that the Lord knows all the answers, we just don't know the right questions to ask. That's me at this point. Maybe I should go out and stand on a corner and ask for money. Only problem with that is that the city we live in, you can't do it! Just my luck.
Well, I've got to go and see about the wash. Barry said he's down to the bottom of his underwear and I'm a right behind him.
Hugs and please continue to say a prayers for all of us who need help.

I'm Scared To Take A Breath

Yes, I'm scared to take a breath. I know that sounds silly, but it seems every time I think things are going along OK, something else happens. Maybe if I just sit and don't make any noise, no one will know I'm here and things will be OK! How many of you have ever thought that way or maybe I should say how many of you are thinking that way right now?!~!

Today I have a meeting with Texas Workforce. It's our unemployment office. The state rep's office we've been working with called them to help me find a job. It sounds great until you understand this agency. I've worked with them before. Way back when I was laid off with American and Barry has been working with them this last year. Yes, this is the same people that doesn't know their right hand from their left. I'm going with an open mind (what's left of it) and see what they can do. When the man called to make the appointment, he said that at least they could tell me what to do with my resume! Big Help! That's what I've been missing for applying for jobs with McDonald's!! Speaking of them, I have applied for several jobs with them. First off, they are close by and second, I thought maybe they would hire most anyone! I have to go to the WalMart store that Barry worked at this afternoon. They have a M's and the manager called yesterday to ask me to come in and take some tests at 2. Process! So, at least today I have something to do. Spending my last bit of gas going up to Denton to meet with Texas Workforce was not how I wanted to use that gas!

On the mortgage front, my sister's husband is trying to help us with that. We'll know something hopefully by the end of the week. I don't even want to think about it because I know something bad will happen if I do. I seem to have a black cloud following me and I don't want it to rain!

I was able to make two cards yesterday. Neither one was outstanding, but not everything has to be. I hope they'll sell. Maybe for not as much, but sell anyway. I have to list them later today.

I'm hoping that Barry will stay in school today. He's come home the last two days early. He said he couldn't think about his classes. Nothing was sticking in his mind. I understand. This morning I told him he better stay in school ALL day! We did speak about him having to go back to work part time. He said he understands. That's on list of "to do's"!

Well, I'm off for another fun filled day in the land of the lost. Texas is going to run out of money to pay for the unemployment our state has soon and still our Governor doesn't want to take the money!! I think all the people affected by this should show up at his place with our suitcases in hand and knock on the gate. Since you don't have a job, and no unemployment, that means no home to sleep in, the least he can do is take us in!!

Hugs!

It's A New Day, A Better Week?

Yes, it's Monday already. I feel like the past week flew by in lighting speed and I am so ready to start a new week! Riley is speeding down the tracks of life and hopefully on a new mission! This week will hopefully bring some good news and a light at the end of the tunnel. I think Hope is a terrible thing to lose. As a nation I think we've lost that feeling. Maybe it was the suddenness of the downhill slide of the economy, maybe it was living too large and a big fall was going to happen anyway, but however it happened, it seemed to take away that magical word Hope! I really thought when I voted in November that I was voting for a change. A chance to get that Hope back. Some days I wake up and think the world is turning around and then others like last Friday, I'm sure they aren't. Who really knows? I guess that's what makes Monday so special. When we wake up bright and early on a Monday morning, it can be almost anything!
Hugs and Love to ALL who enter!

THIS IS IT

How am I ever going to raise 2000.00? Try as I might, I don't know how. We need to come up with 6000.00 so we don't lose our home by August 4. I asked my brother. He hasn't got it. I will ask my younger sister. Maybe she can help some, but where do people turn to today? My kids don't have the money. Evan is buying a home and needs every penny for that. Larry and Tina don't have it right now. I am scared. I don't want to be living out of my car. In almost 60 years of living I've never felt so along and scared before. I know I'm not the only person up at this hour or maybe I should say, haven't gone to sleep worrying about what's next. How are we going to make it? I just don't know.
Today we are going to take a little trip. Barry is involved with a Lions Youth Exchange program. He's been on the board for years and for years we hosted the youth that came to visit from other countries. Now we don't host, but it's always fun to see the kids. They come to the US from all over the world for 5 weeks. This past week they were at a camp all together. They stay at host families the rest of the time. It's the talent show they put on themselves today. It's always a treat and we get a free lunch as well. Can't beat the price! It's just a 2 hour drive to get to camp, but worth it to see there smiling faces. At least I won't have to think too much today!
Did you get your free Chick Filet meal last night? We chose Arby's instead. We got HUGE free sandwich. Free is good!
Sorry there's no cards to post today. I can't seem to get my act in gear right now. Let me know if you know anyone who is a millionaire and can lead me some cash. Yea Right!!
