Now The Waiting Game

Do you just LOVE this paper? I picked up two pieces last week at the LSS. I wish I could have bought more, but I had to settle for what I could. I enjoy making these little postcard sets. They are fun and easy to do. In no time flat you have a perfect little gift. I put on my eBay store this morning. I'm hoping it's gone before too long. Check it out!

I went on my job interview this morning. It sounds like a good job, with good pay and good working hours. Now comes the waiting part. To see if they call you and offer a job! If they do, then they do all the background stuff and then if that's OK, you get the job. We'll see. The man had been interviewing all morning and it was only 10:30! When I signed in at the front desk in the book was all listings for people interviewing with him!

I had a bit of good luck. Just enough to think there is some good left in the world still. I woke up to an extra 100.00 in my pay pal account. My brother surprised me. I know he's having it tuff right now as well, but it means the world to me to know he cares. It came in handy since I wasn't sure how I was going to pay for Barry's med's today. To top all that good luck off, we're going for our free Chick Filet Dinner tonight. We only have to dress up as COWS! Small price to pay for a free meal! I printed off the costume and then we'll tape it in place.

Now I really have to get to work. I have nothing done today. I'm so tired from running around at such an early hour that a nap sounds like the best thing to do! At least until Barry comes home. He said he'd be home early. LUCKY ME!

Please keep saying those prayers because I know they are doing some good. I say mine every day for how blessed I am. No matter what!

Hugs!

At Least I'm A Prettier ME

No, I'm not Tilly just standing around, but I do look a whole lot better this afternoon then I did this morning. My friend Kim cut my hair, took some of the grey out (OK, ALOT) and now at least I can look at myself in the mirror! During this whole thing this morning I got a call about a job and I have an interview tomorrow. Please, please say a prayer for me. Please also say one for my friend Michelle. She has a job interview tomorrow also in a different place, but she really, really, really needs the job too! Oh heck, say a prayer for all my friends who need job and their hubby's too!
I was so worried about the mortgage yesterday and I'm still deeply worried about it, but at least I have a few weeks to see what can be do. We don't meet the standards for redoing the mortgage, but we have a chance to catch up the missed payments. At least we have a little left in the 401. After that, not so much! Not much at all, but I don't want to lose the house, so that's all that counts. Poor Barry, he is stuck between a rock and a hard place with the work thing. If he goes back to work, he still won't get ahead. It's best for him to finish school and get a real job. Hopefully we'll get the back money from unemployment and then we'll just have to see what happens. I really need to get a job!
It's hot there in Dallas. 100+ again today. We had some rain this morning and that's always a treat in our area. Not much rain falls in the summer around there and I hate to turn the water on, but I'd hate to lose the lawn.
I tried working on cards today. I got two done. The little ladybug girl is one. I used some SU Bella Rose paper. I think this paper is so sweet. Now if the card will just sell..........
Have a wonderful evening. Keep all those folks in your prayers. I know they help!
Bless You!

It's Been A Bad Day At Bad Rock

I wish I knew where to go to get help. I wish I had a rich friend or two, but all the wishes in the world are not going to help today. If we don't come up with some money for the mortgage, we face losing the house. It's come down to that after this long year of Barry out of work. Where do people turn? We have so little money left in our savings and I've applied for job after job and still nothing, so now what? I didn't win the power ball or mega millions. I didn't even play. If I had a $ I'd spend it getting food. I'm trying at a lost as to what to do now. We just have nothing left in the tank at this point. I know my readers are probably tried of hearing about my troubles. I'm tried of it too! I want happy days back. I want to be able to afford a Big Mac. I think I'm starting to sound like the kids when they were little. I WANT, I WANT! I just want a break. I now have reached the end of my road and don't know where to turn now. It's so little we need to pay the mortgage, but so far to go. When did $2600 sound so HUGE? When Barry was working and I was getting good money for my cards, we could keep up, but now....
Enough of my troubles. They won't go away, no matter how much I write about them. I did have a bit of good luck. Barry had to have a haircut yesterday. After over 3 months, he was looking too bad to even go on a job interview if one came calling, so we broke down and got his hair cut. The same lady has been cutting his hair since we moved to TX in 1988. She was so young then and now she's an old married lady with kids! She won't take money for the haircut and offered to cut and color my hair tomorrow for free. I didn't just want to cry, I did. I know there are good folks out there still. Sometimes after you talk to bill collectors all day you start to wonder if there's a decent person around. I have been so blessed with kindness from friends and friends I've never even met that I know no matter what happens we be OK. Maybe that's just a pipe dream, but today it's all I have.
Did you like the card? It's from a My Favorite Things set I got last month. I used my winning Gift Certificate from the fall to finally get a fun set. The paper is SU from last year. I still love it.
Well, I guess that's all my troubles for today. I'm sure tomorrow will present another set before I know it. Please keep us in your prayers and if you have the winning lotto numbers, kindly share with us!
Hugs to all!

Just Another Day

To think it's only Tuesday! So far my week is going gang busters! Maybe I should busted instead! Barry had his "so-called" hearing this morning with TX Unemployment for the appeal hearing. It was a joke. It lasted 18 minutes and the woman seemed more concerned about Walmart, then getting Barry his unemployment back! Like I said---sick joke! Now we have to wait another two weeks to hear anything more! I've been talking to our local state rep's office and today was no different. They are going to look into what's up. Barry was pretty down about it this morning. I don't know what will happen.

This afternoon I went to the temp agency and learned more about the job they have. It sounds so bad. Working 8-10 hours a day in a line boxing up cell phones. I said I'd still be interested since nothing else is around right now, but that job won't even start for another week or two! I want my luck to change. Today is one of those cry in your shirt sleeve days. I came home and applied for a part time job at Mickey D's. Maybe I'll hear back from them. I sure hate being such a bummer today, so I'm hoping a little bit of sunshine will come peeking through.

Besides all of that, I've been trying to make a card for the last two hours and nothing is working. I messed up the face of my latest Tilda girl. Of course it looks OK, if you like blue on her nose! I was trying to work on a long skinny card then with chipboard letter. That didn't work out either. So today I'm sharing a card that did work just fine. I love all these girls. I'm lucky to have a wonderful customer who has become a friend who buys so many of these girls. I hope she enjoys this one.

Well, I'm off now. I must do something. Maybe I can take a nap!!

Hugs!

Monday Again!

Have you ever made a great bow and then didn't know what to do with it? I know lots of us crafters keep these perfect little creations right in front of us, just in case we find a use for it. Well that happened to me this weekend. I made this black and white bow and then had to find something to use it with. I knew I wanted it on this card, but it didn't fit. It was too big! So instead of letting it go, I worked and worked until I found a way to use it. I took a small piece of scrap ribbon and just taped it down under the flowers and then glued the bow in place. It worked out OK. Since I already had my square nesties out on my desk, I used it for a layer on this card as well. I am loving all the images that Marilyn sent!

We had a great dinner at Larry's Saturday night. After the long day we had on Friday, we slept off and on a good part of July 4. I woke Barry up to make it to dinner. Larry has a new grill and it cooked the ribs to perfection! The company was pretty good too! Yesterday we just rested and I worked on some cards. Now it's back to the regular stuff. Wash, clean, cook! I have to wash my kitchen floor since I spilled a cup of coffee this morning all over the place. They should have a way to have your coffee before you have your coffee. Know what I mean??????

Well, I'm off to do something this morning. I've uploaded a bunch of new cards on my eBay site. Please check them out. Just click on the link on the right side of this page. Take a look, it won't hurt!!

Hugs!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA

I hope everyone is having a wonderful, long, safe holiday weekend! We started off ours yesterday with a nice long drive in the country, or maybe I should say, nice long drive from one state to anther. We started out our day with a nice breakfast at a Deli we like to go to (with $10 coupon) and then headed up North. We stopped at Scrapin Bunnies and checked out a few new pieces of paper. That October Autumn is now becoming one of favorites! Then we headed out again to Oklahoma to spend a few coins at the Native American Indian Casino's. I know if I don't put Native American, I'll hear from a few "nuts" on the subject, so I'll take care of it now. We manged to only lose a few bucks. We had stopped at the visitor's center. I always need to check out the bathrooms, and got a map or two. After the first stop, we thought it would be nice to drive across the state to our side of the highway. You see we only live about an hour from Okloma. But this time head up to OKC. It was nice 3 hour drive up there. We stopped at another Casnio, but had much better luck there. It turned out it was Men's Night and Barry got $10 in free play. We both won and had a fun time. They even gave us a huge candy bar for signing up for their club card! Next stop was the Captial. It was only another half hour. The nice thing about going on a holiday is that you get the whole place to your self. The buildings were closed, but we got to take pictures outside and we didn't have to wait for anyone to move out of the way. The last stop was dinner on the way home at IHOP. Thanks to a few winnings at the Casino, we had a nice dinner. We arrived home about midnight and we were asleep about 12:10!
We're going to Larry and Tina's for a cookout tonight. I'm trying to create a few cards this morning. I have nothing to put on ebay for this week. I have to hurry and get some done. I do have a few stamps set from SU over there, so if you think you like be interested, just click on the link to my ebay store. Bargins are always a good thing.
Have a fun and very safe weekend. I'll be back on Monday!
Hugs and Peace to all!

It's good to have friends! I've said it before, but I will stick with it, friends are a blessing in times of need. This week I got a HUGE package of Tilda and Edwin images in the mail from my friend Marliyn. She knows just how much I enjoy making these darling little kids, not to mention how well they sell, and she thought of me. For this card I used some old paper and some new. Remember I bought 8 sheets of paper on Saturday, and this is one of them. The "old" is the green gingham that I used in the background mat. It was from a holiday stash of paper. Tilda is always perfect with ribbons, flowers, and glitter!

Barry is at school today for at least a half day. School is only a half day tomorrow and off on Friday. What am I suppose to do with him home all that time?????? I must think of something VERY cheap. We have NO money right now. I really have reached the end and I'm tried of trying to fight it. I don't know how we'll make it to the end of this week, let along the end of his school. It's getting so hard to put one foot in front of the other, but what else is there to do? I guess I could create some more cards!

Well, I'm off to the shower. I'm in need after a warm humid night in our house. Have a good day and please keep us in your prayers. We need a miracle right now!
