No, we didn't leave town or anything so grand as that. Our computer died and Evan had to replace the power source! It had been going for some time and finally at the beginning of the week---nothing! You'd think that because I couldn't get on the computer, I'd have lots of time to create, but it seems I'm lost without my Internet all together! Because I do so much digital now, I can't seem to think without it! I did enjoy my time away. We did the wash, slept late and even saw a movie. Too bad I have to go back to work today!

I'll be back tomorrow. Have to have coffee now!

I had a great weekend doing very little. I slept late, rested well, ate too much, and got to play in my creation station. What more could a gal ask for. Well, I could have asked for a weekend in Maui, but I didn't have much chance at that, so I got what I got! Lunch with Evan, Mandy, and Coco was great. Walking in the park to see the ducks was so fun. I really enjoy seeing that dog think she can out run the ducks. Today and tomorrow I have to work, and then I'm off for 2 more days. It's going to rain on Wednesday so I'm planning now what to do.

And it's time to celebrate the weekend! I don't often get off for the weekend, but I'm this week and let me tell you, I plan to enjoy every minute of it! This morning I slept later then usual, had a nice cuppa, and played on the computer. I got some new digi papers printed out, but I think they're too pretty to cut yet, and now I have to plan out the day! We're going to Evan's later to have a nice visit with the kids (Coco), and take her to the park to visit with the ducks, and then enjoy the rest of the afternoon until Barry has to be at work at 4. Pretty much planned the same for tomorrow as well.

Today's card is made using a Sassy Cheryl's digi stamp and a MFT's verse! Love them both. The card is entered into the weekly challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's. It's been a while since I've done that but if you don't enter, you can't win!

I'm off today and Barry is taking me shopping for shoes. That is Croc shoes. We're headed to the outlet today to see if I can find sneakers. Evan and Mandy got me some but they are too small. The sizing seems to run small and before we mail them back to the place they bought them on line, I'll try and see if the store has them! PINK Sneakers are what I want!

OH RATS, IT'S MONDAY!

It just seems like it was Sunday, and now it's time to go to work again! What's up with that! At least Sunday turned out to be a fun day. Mandy came over in the afternoon and we make 40 of these cuties. Sorry my picture isn't too clear, but my dinning room light doesn't give me good pics. Take my word, they are sweet! I found this digi element in my stash from last Easter and printed it out. Then we did the green plaid and on the back of the cupcake pin is the same pin dot as the baby blanket! The colors of the shower are pink, green, and yellow, so we added the yellow bows! Because it was all digi, they were a snap to make! Cuttlebug was the real star!

The card was made using lots of scraps from my desk. I love the way it turned out. I just printed the verse on white cs and added the printed papers. I wanted my big butterfly to be the star of the show, but I got a little carried away with the die buttons as well. Gotta love it all!

I'm off to work 1/2 day, so have a fun one yourself!

I'm such a happy camper today! It's Sunday and I don't have to work! I know I should be in bed and sleeping the day away, but the sun is out and Barry is sleeping, so I have time to myself and that is wonderful! It's been so busy at work for the last 3 days that it felt like our pre-Christmas everyday! I don't really have much planned for the day. I'll just let whatever happen. Maddy might come over. She wants me to make some cupcake toppers for her. She's going to a baby shower next week and needs them. I'm always happy to help out. Anything for my Evan. Other then that, I'm just going to let Sunday happen!

Today's card is using MFT New Year's girl. I love it for birthdays. I was going to paper piece her dress, but I got lazy. The celebrate is from a $ stamp at M's. I just never know what I'll find in any given box in my studio! Paper is of course, digi!

There ought to be a law about getting up so early on Saturday and having to work as well! As much as the Republicans want to get into what my body can or can't do, why don't they feel the need to for my body to have more sleep today! Guess it's not going to happen!

Riley Is Still A Good Guy!

No matter how many other companies I got to, Riley The Moose is still tops with me! All these darling little guys warm the heart! I saw this layout on the web and it was perfect for this birthday card!
Yesterday turned out to be such a fun day. I work for 4 hours, but that when by quickly enough when I knew I was going to pick Madelyn up at 1:15 after they got out of school early! Larry called bright and early to see if I could help out---what a silly question! We went to Joann's and got more candy making items and then headed home for a fun afternoon! I wanted our project to have an "end" game, so I suggested making candy bags for her Brownie Troop meeting next week! She did all the work herself on making the candy lips and roses and then added a paper heart to the outside of the bag and I tired a bow around the top of the bags. I wanted to take a picture of them with her, but she wanted no parts of that, so you'll just have to take my word, they were perfect! Last night after her Daddy picked her up, the four of us went to Olive Garden for dinner. Tina had to work, so I got to spend time with Barry, Larry, and Madelyn myself! Loved it!
Today I'm working from 2-6 and that means I have all morning to play and update my stash of cards! I added lots of new ones to my Etsy store, so check them out!

Been MIA!

I'm hoping I still have followers and they've been wondering where in the world I've been, so let me show you some of what I've been up to since the first of the year! Of course it hasn't taken all my time, but I have been busy doing some new cards for the store and they'll be in a day or two. Today's creation is for the Make n Take tomorrow night I'm doing. Right now I have 14 coming so I've been busy making the kits to take with me. My dinning room smells so good---just like Dove chocolate! Each card has been cut and is ready to bag up for tomorrow. I'm also taking some of the new creations I've made in hopes they'll want to purchase!
Well, since the first of the year Barry and I have been very busy. We bought a new TV for the bedroom. Ours was on it's very last leg. The new 37" is wonderful to watch. It's best watched from the new bed we bought last week! It was beyond dead and I truly feel so much better now! It was such a long year in 2011, but we have high hopes that this new year will bring a peaceful start, middle and ending for us! We're both working and now getting Social Security and I have to say, that's the best security we've had in a long time!
I gotta go and cut the last of the ribbon and package it all up now, so enough the day and please come again and visit!

I want to wish you and yours the very Happiest New Year! It's been a rough year for some of us and still I feel blessed to have come through it with so much and love from my family and friends. Thank you all for being there for me this year. I love you all.

That SU paper, Bella Rose, never gets tired! I love the stuff and today's card is made using several of the pieces and a nice piece of pink gingham digi paper to match! The Pure Innocence is new from MFT! Check out the new heart punch, and this fun ribbon I got a while ago at M's. Love, love, love how this card turned out!

Today Madelyn arrived bright and early at 7. Her mom is picking her up at 1 since I have to be at work at 2. We've already been out to Joanna's so she could get her new hair clip I promised her before Christmas. I said when we had a 50% coupon we'd buy it, and today was the day! Nice with feathers!

Today Madelyn will be there again but for the whole day. We have to take my car in to get new brakes and then think of something fun to do.

Looking Ahead!

I'm so ready to move onto next year! It's been one of the worst years of my life and now it's almost at an end! Life is getting back to a better place for us and hopefully that will continue into the new year. With all the ups and downs for us, I've been blessed with wonderful friends and the best family ever! They have loved me no matter what, and for that my heart is full of joy. Thank you all so much!

Like the card? Too bad if you don't, I do! I love that people share online their talent. It's so nice and every month this artist shares a birthday gift. I dug out my Martha butterfly punch cause it just seemed to plain without something at the bottom of the card. Now it's for sale in my Etsy store, ready for the New Year!

I hope you all had a blessed holiday this year and were able to spend time with your loved ones. I had dinner at Larry and Tina's last night. It wasn't what I really wanted to do. I just wanted to be lazy and Barry worked all day, but it was my son and he wanted me to come, so like a good Momma, I was there. Today is wash, clean, cloth, and maybe some M's shopping later.

Rest In Peace NOw Dear Poppy

This is a picture of a dear sweet man who passed away in his own bed during the night that he shared with Annette for over 60 years. He is at peace now. Barry's Dad was 93 years young, but when my MIL passed away several years ago, he missed her and wanted to be with her. Now he has his wish! We will be going to Washington tomorrow to be with our family. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. It will be a hard weekend, but knowing that he is happy now will make it easier on everyone.

Friday Fan Favorite!

I'm so excited to have been chosen for a second time to have a fan favorite of WD! I loved working with the DT, and still continue to enjoy the digital stamps! This card uses a whole lot of scraps that were laying around on my desk. That's the fun of doing your own thing. There is no right and no wrong way to do anything creative! If I could only make a living with my cards, I'd be a very happy camper! Each year I sell less and less holiday cards, and this is by far the worst of the years. I will be putting all the holiday cards on sale in my store this weekend so I can make room for new designs. Can't wait to get my hands on a Valentine image to play with!

Barry finally had a day off today. It was nice to sleep late with no alarms to go off! We were lazy for most of the day. This afternoon we went and saw Coco and her Dad. He was of work and I need so sweet puppy love and kisses. Always makes me feel better.

Tomorrow is back to work again. Another 7 hours on my feet, but the checks are nice every Friday so I continue to work. Oh, to have been born rich instead of beautiful!

I've been a busy girl this morning? I created 5 new cards and uploaded them to my Etsy store! Each and everyone is a small work of art, if I say so myself, and I do! Isn't Mr Rabbit funny? It's Beginning To Feel Like Winter!

It's so cold today. I think winter has finally arrived in North Texas! We even had a few snowflakes last night. Where was this weather all summer in our 100 degree heat! Oh well, at least I have a roof over my head!
Today's card is made using one of the new images from Whimsie Doodles. I wanted the snowmen to be in a snow globe. I think it worked out just fine!
Tonight is the Christmas party from my store. They are not very PC! Not only do they call it a "Christmas" party, it's at a church! Someday the message will get to people that not everyone celebrates Christmas! I have not ever nor will I ever have Christmas---I'm Jewish! All the gang is coming to our home on Dec 21 to light the candles and have dinner. It's a first for Mandy. I hope to make a special time for her so she can enjoy the holiday for many years to come. Tina is bringing a book she has that goes over the whole thing, with prayers and all the games played. I think deep in Mandy's heart she's a little afraid of what is going to be "Jewish"! It's so common in the South to see that. Jews do not have two heads and we don't eat non-Jews!
I have to get ready for work. It's from 11-5 today and then off for 3 whole days! Yea!

Do You Believe?

OMG, what a fun digi image from Whimsie Doodles that I got today! All the new one's came out and I have to admit, I bought one of them as well, but had to have this funny one too! It took me longer to decide which papers to print and use then to put the card together, but in the end, I'm so happy with the way it turned out. This card is headed over to my Etsy store. It's time to BUY now!
I worked all weekend and I'm really tired today, and the weather is so grey and cold it's not helping me any, but I do plan on getting something done anyway! Barry is working all week and that is great for the budget. That new bed and TV are moving right up on the WISH list. We need both so bad, it's hard to choose which first. The back or the eyes!
I made a super beef stew last night in the crock pot. It just felt like hot food night. It was either chili or beef stew and the stew won out. I have enough for a nice hot lunch. Tonight is any one's guess for dinner. Barry works until 5, so I'll just have to see. I work tomorrow and then at 7 is the holiday party from our store. After that I'm off until Saturday! I can't believe I have that much time off. Madelyn is coming after school on Wednesday and maybe another day or two. I love having her to craft with. She's such a fun child. Now to see if we can get Coco this week too. That makes one happy Grannie!

Go Red, White, & Blue Mittens!

What is the sense when you buy mitten brads that they all go in the same direction? I can't figure this one out! I've had the colored brads for several years and dug them out of the stash and used them on this card. I love the colors. So bright and fun! The snow folks are Whimsie Doodles, and the paper is of course digital! This card was in my store for a mere day and then it's flying off to a new home! I love my customers! They are so supportive and I am blessed to have them in my life as friends!
Yesterday Barry had his last semi-annual cancer check-up. All is well. Now he goes back in May and then again not until the next year! He'll have reached that all important 5 year level! Talk about being blessed---we are! After the doctor we shopped for food, a few new $ stamps I found at a different Wally World, and then home to a nice warm house! It's beginning to be a lot like Winter in Texas right now. Today it's cold and rainy, but since I'm working from 11-6, it doesn't really matter! I'll be indoors!

New Set Of Snowmen

I just added this fun new set of 4 cards to my Etsy store. Aren't they too cute! He's a Heather Ellis snowman. She does the My Favorite Things images. I found this fun digi paper online and it seemed to match up perfectly with the cute little guy! I love doing holiday cards in different colors then red and green!

I had to be at work yesterday at 6 AM. Boy was I beat when I got off at noon! I worked as a cashier in the deli department and it was steady business all the time! Today I don't have to be at work until 10, so I could sleep alittle longer! Barry works at 9:30.

Can you quess that was tired of making holiday cards yesterday and broke away from them? I found this sweet, sweet froggie digi paper on sale this weekend and had to have it to play with! I love using up scraps of this and that on my desk and on the Pure Innocence card that's just what the blue and green are---scraps! I pulled out my froggie set of SU stamps that are as old as the hills for the second card. I sold off a lot of SU sets, but I couldn't part with this one. It's always a winner! Both cards have been added to my Etsy store if you're interested in them!

I'm off again today from work. I have to run to the post office to mail MaryBeth's new cards to her and hit Wally World and then I'm going to be able to play a little in my happy room today! I keep saying I should have been born rich instead of beautiful---next time around!

Pre Thanksgiving Cooking!

Madelyn was very busy on Tuesday making all the chocolate candies to take to Uncle Evan's house for Thanksgiving! Nice mess she left me to clean up! After all, a girl can get tired doing so much cooking! She did have a helper to make sure everything was good, and to see if anything fell on the floor! They had such a good time together!

Thanksgiving was so wonderful. We had a family dinner at Evan's and Larry, Tina, Madelyn, Justin and his GF all eat together.

It was nice not to work on Thursday or yesterday. Barry I didn't do too much Black Friday shopping. We stopped at M's on the way home from Evan's and the only things I bought were glue and pop dots. They were out of the B plates and any new CB. Yesterday we went to the second hand store and I got some almost new pants for work. Can't beat 2.99 a pair! I was going to work on some cards last night, but my bed called me first. So now I'm off to work for the day. I work again tomorrow for a short time and then it's off for the next two days again! I have so much to do for my store. Another Hanukkah card sold, so I have to do that and then an order for a special birthday and then more snowmen! Busy Bee!

Today I am ever so thankful that I have the day off and Madelyn will be there soon to spend the day with me. I have to have the skin tag looked at with the doctor this morning and hopefully everything will be OK, but then it's some girl time!

I thought maybe because it's beginning that time of the year we think about what we have and what we are thankful for, I'd start a list of what I'm thankful for and you could add your thoughts to it! Please take a moment to share with us.

1. I am so thankful and blessed to have a family that loves me no matter what!

2. I am so thankful that I have good true and loving friends that care about me!

3. I am so thankful that my younger son Evan has found a wonderful and loving partner to make his life with. Mandy is a special person just for him!

It's Sunday Night and Where Has....

the weekend gone? I worked all day yesterday, but still, you'd think that maybe Sunday could just get a wee bit longer! Today Barry and shopped, hopped around, and finally ate some lunch! He's working as usual today, but the unusual thing is, he's working tomorrow too! He's working part of this week and all of next---nice big checks---well as big as they can be on his pay!

Tuesday I have to go to the doctors office and have them look at my eye. I've had a little skin tag for some time, but now next to that I have a puffy spot that's red. Barry is taking me before he goes to work because I'm babysitting Maddy that day. She and I have plans to make chocolate covered pretzels for Thanksgiving to take to Evan's house. I even got the peppermint sprinkles she wanted today! We will be busy girls!

I hope you like the card I've got showing today. I just finished it and I must say I'm so happy how it turned out. I collect the digi verses from one company and found the one I wanted, printed it out and then found bits of scraps on my desk to make the card work for me. I just added it and a few others to my store. Check them out!

Well, I'm off to do something right now besides craft. I ran out of glue and the craft places are closed until tomorrow. Don't worry, I only work from 8-1, so I can stop on my way home!

WOW! It's Friday

It's beginning to feel like the holiday's are coming! The air is cool and the leaves are falling---and in Texas we say Thank God and it's about time! After the record heat this summer, cool is very good! I'm off today and I've been a busy girl. I got the wash done, picked up the bird at my store, made several cards for an order, and even cleaned the kitchen! Don't you think I should have something special today as a treat? You know, maybe a trip to M's or some place like that? I feel that way, but Barry doesn't understand a trip to Michael's is better then chocolate!

Next week I'm off Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday! I'm going to short some hours, but I really don't care! I just want to have time to spend with my family!

I guess I'm off to do something creative again. You know, like make the bed with me in it!

Oh Happy Days...

I know it's been a few days since you've seen me, but honest, I've been busy! Ok, so maybe I did get a little nap or two in, but most of the time....

Monday I worked and then I was beat, but I did find time to create this week and these are just two of the cards I worked on. I thought it was about time I got moving on holiday cards. The image is a free clip art image that I used to make these grand looking works of art. The paper is of course, digi.

Yesterday I went and picked up the Coco girl and took her to the dog park. She found another Bully! The other little girl was only 5 months old but the same size as Coco. Our girl is such a peanut! Anyway we had a good time and both of us were sleepy after that! The picture of Coco is her trying to check to see if anyone was watching her enter the office and studio! Guess Grandma was ready for her!

Barry is working the rest of the week! OH boy. are his checks going to be good! I guess I'm off to do my thing now. Have a great day and hurry back!

It's Such A Shame....

That I have to go to work today! It's going to be pretty and sunny, and I really don't want to be inside! Oh well, so it goes! Today's card is another using my favorite snow guys from Whimsie Doodles.

Yesterday I had to be at work from 6 AM to noon---boy was that an early day. The good thing was that I got off at noon, and was able to have the rest of the day to be home! After lunch I took a nice long nap and then made Barry a couple of Thank You cards he requested for people at work. Dinner wasn't until almost 9 last night because he didn't get home from work until late, but at least I was able to play in my happy room longer!

Evan and Mandy came home from Houston in the evening and we settle Thanksgiving plans. At their home this year! Her mom and sister will be coming up for the weekend. Nice to see them again!

Well, I have to get ready for work now, so have a great day!

So Sometimes I Just Don't Get It...

I mean, really, why can't I have more days off then I work! Really! I finally finished off the 4th day and now I have a day off! Yea! I talked Barry into doing the wash tonight and then we'll have all day tomorrow to enjoy it together. It is Veteran's Day and we need to celebrate it! I thank goodness every day that Barry is a vet and has his health care with them. I don't know what we would have done without there help. It's truly a blessing to us!

I know I should be happy---it's Wednesday and the week is almost over, but really, why do people have to work on days like these! It's cold and windy outside. It's a good day to stay home, have a nice bowl of soup for lunch and play in your happy room! It's a shame I wasn't born rich instead of beautiful! Oh well, next life!

The pretty in pink card is made using a Heather Ellis digi image. She's the designer of the MFT Pure Innocence girls as well. I love her work and can't seem to have enough. KWIM?????? The paper is from a digi collection of pink and green holiday paper.

Now I'm off to finish the invite for Barry's Lions Club holiday party. I add lots of clip art to the so now it's pretty!

Yes, It's Monday!

Just got home from work and now I begin the process of taking off all the clothes, including the bra! That's the most important thing to remove after the shoes! It's jammie time again! Work was sort of fun today. I covered other cashier's breaks, so I got to move around a bit. Short day tomorrow--only 4 hours and then home to Barry!

Like the card? I saw this layout on the web and fell in love with the simple lines. Also I got to use lots of pretty papers, and that of course is the object of owning so many digital papers! At least I tell Barry that!

I'm off to nap and see what's for dinner. Steak and a veggie I think.

Lunch For Barry's Birthday!

Today was the Larry Bloom side of the family's day to celebrate Barry's birthday so we went out to Blue Mesa for buffet. Their friend Forrest joined us as well because Barry and Forrest share the same birthday! We really enjoyed the food and the nap after we came home! This is a new picture Tina took with her IPhone today of Barry, Madelyn, and Grandma! I wore some pants today that fit again, but after the buffet who knows!

Barry has gone off to work and I've been playing in my happy room. I have to work for the next 4 days and so I don't know when I'll get some play time in, but I'm sure I will. More new cards to add to the collection in my Etsy store. What treasures!

Coco and The Ducks!

Yesterday turned out to be just the type of day I needed! I was at Creation Station (my studio)during the morning and worked on some new cards for the store, then around noon I packed up and went to Evan's house and got Coco. Ride, is the magic word for that dog! She was ready and waiting for her ride to the park! We took hamburger from Mickey D's. She loves the drive in because she gets to see PEOPLE! Then off to the park! It's on a minute from the house and since I don't want her to get tired, after all she is just a small (45lb) girl, we didn't go to the dog park! She just can't understand why those darn geese don't want to play with her! A real life toy! Oh well, we had a nice work and then I took her home.

In the afternoon I worked some more on cards, but not too much, and then Barry and I joined Evan and Mandy for Mexican food for dinner. It was a much needed lazy day for me. I think I'm just getting too stressed about selling my cards. I need to just let it happen. I know it's because I have more "wants" then needs these days and it tends to stress me out. So today I'm just going to play at my own speed and have a nice lazy day again! Barry is working but will be home tomorrow so maybe we can do something fun. It's been too long for us!

Do You Feel This Way Too?

If you create cards and they don't sell, do you take it personally? Do you ever feel like maybe you've lost something in your creation process? I know the market is soft and everyone and her brother want to make an extra buck, but really, should I second guess my work or what! I've been making cards for a very long time and I know they aren't as fancy as some and I don't always use the "latest" products, but I really like what I make and just don't understand why they aren't flying off the shelves! I really want to stop making so many if they aren't going to sell, but it's a hobby that I really enjoy. Even Barry last night agreed that I do it because it takes me to a place there is no stress, most of the time, but then I wonder why I "need" to make so many! Am I that stressed---oh yes, but today I'm going to unstress myself with a visit to see Coco and go feed the ducks! She really is so much fun to be with, for a dog, that is!

Today is Barry's birthday and I asked off for the day and then he was called to work today and tomorrow, so since he couldn't say no, I have the rest of the week to myself. Tonight we're going to dinner with Evan and Mandy at one of favorite places. I love local restaurants. They help support the locals and this one always makes everything fresh each day!

Well, I'm off to create something before lunch!

Coco is ready for any treats that just happen to "fall" on the floor!

Do you think it's as fun as I do? Does it make you want to jump for joy? Oh silly, of course it does! I combined some neat digi elements together along with long lost punch and completed this card in record time! It's so much fun that way!

Today I'm off work and we got lots done this morning. I was finally able to get my blood work done from last week's check-up. They ran out of the small butterfly needles they need to take my blood. It seems the only sure place for me in on the top of my hands! My other veins seem to run away---from the site of needles! Then we did some other running around and finished off with the wash, so now I can enjoy the rest of my time off this week. Tomorrow is Barry's birthday but he's now working tomorrow and Thursday. Don't want to say NO to extra hours. We're having dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant with Evan and Mandy but in the afternoon I'm planning of a nice visit with Coco. We're off to see the ducks! She loved doing that last time!

If anyone would like to get rid of or trade for the SU bird punch I would love to hear from you. I would really like it and can't afford to spend the money right now. I have lots of things, but maybe someone would really like the gingerbread punch that's just like SU punches! Let me know if you're interested!

Thank goodness it's Friday, except I have to go back to work! I have enjoyed the days off and next week it gets even better! I have to work the whole weekend and Monday, but then I'm off from Tuesday until I go back to work on Saturday! When you question the crazy way our work days are...the only answer is that the computer does it and the mangers don't have anything to do with it! It's OK for now, I'll take the days off to work on cards for the holidays for now! Speaking of cards, do you like this one? I used some digi elements along with digi papers and---fun card! I just how you can play with the digi elements! I'm getting better at this!

I'VE Been Busy!

I know I've been MIA for several days, but these are just some of the cards I've been working on! Monday I worked all day, and then when Barry was at his meeting in the evening, I got all my papers and images together to work on this week! If only things would ever work out just as you plan them, then I would have been a happy girl! As you so well know, nothing ever goes as planned! Yesterday we spend all morning doing "stuff" that needed to get done, so that left the afternoon. Barry has a friend in the hospital, so he went and visited him in the afternoon and I started creating. This morning we were up early to do the wash, and then back to my creation station! If only I didn't have so much digi papers and images, it would make my choices so much easier and I wouldn't spend half my time trying to decide what I want to use! Happy Birthday To Me!

Yup, it's that big day! 62 and able to get my Social Security! How on earth did I get this old! Oh yea, I'm married to a guy who is MUCH older then me and it must have rubbed off on me! Next year I'll be back to my usual 33! We're having dinner at Evan's so we can see Mandy's new ring and of course I can see Coco. She's the real reason for going to his house! I really love that little girl!

Like the card? It was made using a digi image along with digi paper. It's such a fun card IRL and the bit of ribbon and stick pin are perfect touches!

Well, I'm off to do something fun today for my special day. I'm having lunch with hubby since he has to work tonight. We're going to Jersey Mike's for subs!

It's Friday and I'm Tried Already!

It's early, only 8 AM, so how can I be tried already---well---I have to work standing on my feet for 7 hours today! I like work, but not long days! I think every day should be a 4 hour day! Won't that be grand! Oh well, I have 4 days off next week and 3 long ones again! More time to create. I love how this card looks. I used a sweet snow girl from Whimsie Doodles and some fine looking digi papers.

This Sunday is my birthday and I don't know how I'm going to spend it yet, but sleeping late will start the day! I can't believe I'm going to be 62! I told the boys that next year I'll be back to 33 since I want to get my Social Security this year! It starts in December and in January a raise! How lucky is my timing!

Well, I'm off to eat something before work. I'm babysitting Madelyn tomorrow night. I can't wait. It's a girls night since Barry is working. We'll do dinner and crafts, with a stop at Michael's first.

Easy To Mail, Hard To Sell!

I hope this season of selling Christmas cards isn't as bad as last year! Any thoughts on this? Do you make and try to sell cards? I know money is tight, but still....

OH well, today I'm sharing a fun "easy" to mail card I made this week. I love Riley. He always makes me smile when I pull out one of these fun images. They never get old and they always make a fun card! These and others cards are for sale in my store right now!

Barry was out of the house before the sun came up. We seem to have a new problem with the car. Last month it was the brakes. Now this month it seems like we have a gas leak somewhere in the car. Yesterday we smelled gas inside the car! The car and Barry are now in line to see what's up! We don't really have the money to fix the car right now so it may have to sit for a while at home. We might we down to one old car instead of two and then we'll have to figure out how we both get to and from work with the one car! Life never gets easier at the Bloom Zoo!

I don't have to be at work until noon today so I'm hoping to get a little creating done. That would be nice. Since my big burst of energy last weekend it seems to have left me, but I'm going to try anyway!

Now I need to get some coffee, so I'll say good-bye!

It's getting past time to start making holiday cards I know, but I'm just starting for real! I've seen so many posts online about making cards that are "easy" to mail and thought this would be a great idea! I've added several sets to my store of those types of cards. This is one of those sets! I combined some fun digi papers and then added my digi gingerboy. I was looking for a Christmas stamp when I ran into the celebrate stamp on my desk and thought it would be ok to use. These are so darn cute!

Today we're getting Madelyn. Grandpa is babysitting until I get off at 1. She has off for the holiday. Now what to do with her this afternoon! Time will be short since the Rangers game is at 3:19, but hopefully we'll find something to do!

It's Good When A Plan Works!

I set out today to finally figure out how to play with my digi images and all the fun elements that I have along with the papers. A kind soul told me how to unzip my files, unlike my darling hubby, who tried, but failed. This card was make using the images from a download. I was able to unzip the file and move my pumpkins in and play with the size in order to move them next to the scarecrow! I know many of you know how to do this, but hey, I'm old and slow! I printed out several sheets of fun papers and A CARD! I just love how it turned out! I got 4 cards made today. I'm also out of white card stock. I know I should have gone to Wally World today, but I was lazy. It turns out Barry isn't working tomorrow and who knows if I'll get there!

Tomorrow night I'm meeting with an old friend to get some girl time in. We're going to scrap. Now, I don't really scrapbook, but it will be fun to see Tonya. We worked together and then she moved out of the state. Can't wait to play!

Well, I'm off to see what trouble I can get into before I call it a night.

Well, if ever I really got on a roll, then the world would have to watch out for me! I made 3 cards today and feel so good about it, I'm ready to dance! Ok, maybe not dance, but take a nap before I have to get ready for work, but good anyway! This sweet image is from Whimsie Doodles last year holiday collection. I just love these little snowpeople. They are so sweet and since I'm such a saver, I have all my digi images from last year all ready to go! The colors are just so sweet and IRL, they look even richer in tone. All digi, of course except my wrinkle, crinkled seam binding ribbon!

I have a training class tonight at work from 5-7:30. That's not too bad, and then I don't have to work again until Friday. I am one happy camper!

Magical Christmas

Sweet, isn't she! She a wonderful new holiday digi image from Claire Keay. I found this back-to-school digi paper some time ago and it had this great plaid. I love plaid papers, so it became my download right away!

Today I'm off work and enjoyed sleeping in a latter then usual. We got some wash done, napped by the pool and just played lazy today. Barry is going to work the rest of the week at the assisted living place that didn't want to drive the bus anymore. Now they need him to be at the front desk for the week. We don't mind the money. I work tomorrow night for a training class, and then not again until Friday! I could get used to this! I must work on some holiday cards for my store. It's in need of some, not that I've sold much lately. I don't call one card in two weeks really selling, but I keep trying! It's a shame because I really like the way my cards have been turning out!

Yesterday I had an old friend some in the store while I was working and we hugged and kissed like long lost friends! She just moved back to the area and I can't wait to get together with her. Tonya and I worked together years ago at the scrapbook store. We doing some scrap booking on Thursday night. She has two little ones and has to work around that. Can't wait!

Fall Is In The Air Today!

After 101 yesterday, today it really is going to feel like Fall in Texas! Can't wait---too bad I have to work most of the day, but tonight I'll enjoy the cool weather!

Today's card is one of 4 I got made in the last few days! I know, 4! If you haven't tried digi paper, you might want to think about it. This card was made using some more of the SU papers I downloaded right at their site. The Bella Rose papers are one of my all time time favorite, and so you'll have to get used to seeing it a lot! My stamp is one from the $ bin at Michael's. I had to have one that said Bloom!

Hard to believe my two days off is almost over! I got up yesterday morning and started cooking. My house smelled so wonderful! All the good smells to start the New Year off right! My soup souped, my liver became chopped, and my roast was perfect! Then all my chicks came home to roost and my day was complete! Oh yea, I still had to do the dishes, but they went fast with everyone helping out. Now we have yummy leftovers for the next couple of days.

I made this card last week. I think it's missing something---besides a buyer. It is prettier IRL, but it still seems a little flat. OH well, I'm sure it will do.

Today I was out early to the IRS. Had to change our bank account to the new one Barry opened last week for our payment for life plan we have with them! That only took 3 hours! Then it was off to see my Coco! I was in the same part of town as where Evan lives, so I called to let him know I would be going over to let her out to go to the bathroom. She had other ideas! The backyard just wasn't doing it for her, so I put her lead on, took her to the car, and off we went to the park right near his house. They even had ducks for her to watch! Within minutes she'd done her business and had great smells! She loves to go in the car. In the middle of the drive, she came over to me and gave me a big puppy kiss!

Tonight Barry has a meeting and I plan to get some crafting time in. That's my plan, but TV may call me instead!

Finally!

Today is the last day of my six days in a row to work! Yea for me! I'm only working 2-6, so it's not too bad! I was able to sleep late and get a little shopping in this morning. Now Barry is off the wait at the VA. He has a rash on his arm that won't go away, and then he's working from 6-8 tonight, so again we'll be passing like those ships in the night! I swear the only thing that keeps me going is knowing I get paid every Friday! My 20 hour job is again 25 hours this week!

I was able to finish up this card over the weekend and post it today in my store. I love the way it turned out. So fall! Lots of digi goodness again!

Tomorrow night starts the Jewish New Year. I think the gang is coming. I heard from Larry last night so I know they'll be here, but late. Madelyn has dance til 7. Evan and Mandy have a late softball game, so I think I'm on the way there. Must check later on. Hope Coco comes to visit. She's the star of the whole show!

It's Gonna Feel Like Fall!

It's suppose to be cooler then the 93 we had yesterday and that can only mean one thing in Texas, Fall is about a month away! Fall doesn't come at the usual time down there, it's a bit late, like November or so! And we're happy to have it come at all after the summer we've had, so happy Fall! In honor of the coming of cooler days, I made this card. It has bits of this and that from my desk. I think October has the best people because I was born in October and this year is going to be a special birthday for me! It's the only one where I will be happy to say how old I'm going to be---62! Yes, I get to claim my Social Security! Next year I'll go back to being 33! Mark down this date---October 23. It's my birthday!

Barry and I had a great anniversary. We had dinner with Evan and Mandy and got lots of love from Coco. She gives the best puppy kisses! After dinner we went to Larry and Tina's house and got Madelyn kisses. They were even better! There is no better way to celebrate then with family! In the afternoon we saw Zookeeper. What a funny movie and it was .75 day to top it off!

I have to work for the next 3 days so I'm off now to try and get something done in my house. Thank you all for the kind words on our anniversary!

Can You Believe It's Been 41 Years!

Today we celebrate our 41st anniversary! Sometimes it seems like just yesterday and then most of the time, it seems like forever! If you've been with someone a while, you'll understand. I can remember that day so clearly, so how can it be that many years ago! It was a wonderful sunny Sunday. My step dad made breakfast for my sisters and Mom so we could go and get our hair done. While at the hairdresser, I realized I lost one of my pearl earring that Barry had given me to wear! Harvey was really the best of the best Dad's that my mom could have picked. He went to the only store that was open in our area, and bought me a set of pearl earrings so I'd have them to wear down the aisle! There are so many memories of that wonderful day!

Tonight Barry and I are going to Evan's house for dinner. I love spending time with my boys. Best part, I get to see Coco!

I'm happy because I didn't have to work today and it was my first payday with the new job!! YEA! Barry and spent the day doing lots of things that needed to get done and now we're just chillin' out watching TV. Well he is anyway. I thought I'd play on the computer a little.

Yup, a fun image from last winter of Riley the Moose! Don't you love this combo of papers? The plaids are some more of that wonderful SU digi paper and the polka dot was a freebie online this morning. Perfect match to the blue in the plaid! One card at a time!

I'm trying to get over being so tired from working. I know I just have to get used to it, and I'm sure I will, but in the meantime, I'm been taking it a little slow! I worked last night and then not again until Saturday. That's another of those 9 hr day! Killer!

Please keep my FIL in your thoughts and prayers. He's not doing too well, but we're still hoping for the best. He is 93.

Christmas Is In The Air!

Maybe not quiet yet, but soon enough to start making a few Christmas cards! Today's card uses some new SU digi paper, I love, and a gingerbread boy digi image from last year, along with ribbon, button, and a flat button charm from my stash! Thank goodness for those stashes! This card is so cute in person! I just added it to my store, and hopefully will get some more fall cards done soon!

I worked again today from 6-2! I could barely make it into my car to come home. My body is getting old. I need to win the Lotto! I have to work again tomorrow from 11-8. I can't believe a third long day in a row! I just keep thinking of the money I'm earning and how it will help out for us. Barry has said if it doesn't work out, it doesn't. I think there has to be a time when feet should be replaced with younger ones! My have reached that age!

I'm going to rest up and then think out what to have for dinner. Barry is at work until 8. I found him in bed resting when I came home. He had a long week working and his body needed the rest.

I'm sure if I could find a way to see my feet, then they would still be there, but at this point after standing on them for 8 hours, I'm not sure they are called feet anymore! Boy, oh boy, are they crying out! Today was my first day at the job and I'm beat! It's not hard, except I do have to learn the veggie codes, but other then that, it's not hard at all. Just the standing! I know I can make it, I know I can make it!

I had my new hire stuff last night. 2 1/2 hrs of watching video's and listening to the trainer! I got my hours for the rest of this week---6-2! I have to be there at 6 AM! Coffee is not even up at that hour! I'm hoping they will change next week. I'll know more tomorrow!

As you can see, I had to make another card with my wonderful, beautiful Bella Rose digi papers! Can't get enough of this stuff! Thank you Stampin UP! The little saying is a $ stamp I picked up on Labor Day shopping with my friend. I've made 2 cards this afternoon and think I might have another one left in me!

Tonight is my first time at Market Street. I have to be there at 5 for new hire orientation. I hope it's short and sweet and I get home before it's dark. I really don't like to drive at night anymore. The job is suppose to be in the daytime, so here's hoping!

Barry is working this afternoon and then for the rest of the week! Yea! Money, money, money!

So today I'm showing off one of the newest cards I made using a fun free digi stamp and some Stampin Up digi paper. I'm sure you all have seen the Bella paper that SU had a year or two ago, but now it can be bought in digi form. I jumped right in on that one. I love this paper! The green and pinks are perfect for Christmas cards, Valentine cards, and even, as you see, birthday cards! The best part is that I won't use up the pieces that I love the best!

Barry is working today so I picked up my GF and off went to Hobby Lobby and then Michael's before stopping for lunch. It was a nice treat for both of us. We didn't do too much damage. I bought some card stock and she bought a fake pumpkin! Last of the big time spenders, but it was so nice to have another body to talk to!

New Ribbon In My Store!

Here is nothing finer then the smell of ribbon! Ok, maybe pretty paper, but there's still room for ribbon at the top of the list! And crinkled seam binding is the best! I love these colors for Fall, but the green, black and even the pretty pink would be great on Christmas cards. Just wait, I'll sure you'll see lots of these colors on my cards this year! Boo To YOu!

Can you tell I'm in the mood for Fall? It's one of the best times of the year and I can't wait! Coco has gone home, again! She spent some more time with us this week and this morning I took her to the pet store for her grooming and her dad will pick her up and hopefully she'll stay home for a few days! We love her, but the walking every hour can get to be a bit much! She drinks so much water because it's hot and that just means walking time again!
She'll be back tomorrow along with the rest of the gang for Larry's birthday. They're coming for brunch. I can't believe my son is going to be 40. I remember when I turned 40 and Barry gave me a giant button that said "this is what 40 looks like"! It doesn't seem as if it was that long ago. WoW, do the years pass quickly.
I do have some good news to past along. I finally got a job as a part time cashier at Market Street. It's a nice upscale grocery store. I start training Wednesday night and we'll go from there. 20 hours a week. I hope I can handle standing on my feet that long. My left foot gives me fits now. I bought a new pair of shoes, so I now have to take the job! It'll be ok. It came at a good time since Barry heard he's not going to be driving anymore at the assisted living home. They just don't need to have someone do it. OH well!
Gotta run and clean up a bit!

Hello Fall?

So maybe it's not exactly Fall, but yesterday morning and again today, it feels like it's getting closer! I woke up this morning to the sound of raindrops hitting my bedroom window! I know, I was thinking, what is that sound, but then I remembered---rain! Yesterday morning Barry and I went to the pool and it was cloudy and cool. It did warm up to 108 later in the day, but for a time it was wonderful!

My card today is using Riley The Moose. He does everything! I have my cloud punch sitting on my desk mainly because I'm too lazy to get up and put in it's proper place, but also because I really love making the clouds! I thought it would be fun to add a few to this card too! You see, with using digi paper, you can always make more scraps to use for the "whatever" you want!

Coco when home on Sunday night to her Daddy. She was so happy to see her. We really do miss her. Coco is a sweet girl. I wish I could get a pet, but right now it's not something that's going to happen. We get to see her often and that will have to do. When Barry came home from work on Sunday night he walked in and called "Coco, Grandpa is home"! It's funny how much that little monkey got to him! She'll be back on Sunday for bunch. It's Larry's 40th birthday and I'm hoping to have the gang over for. I can't believe my oldest son is that old. I feel like he must be someone else's child. I'm not old enough to have a son 40! I mean, just because Barry and I are going to be married 41 years next month, doesn't mean we have a son that old! Someone must have left him on the doorstep! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Coco is coming back to visit! Evan called last night to see if we could watch her this weekend when he is moving Mandy into his home! What a silly question! Of course we would be happy to watch her! I've missed her this week as it is, and can't wait to get silly wet puppy kisses again!

I just Riley and the ghost is perfect to get into the Fall mood! I found a small piece of black lace left from last year and added it to create this card. I have enough left for one more card and then it's time to try and find some more. The LSS I got this lace at went out of business, so the quest will be harder!

After a week and a half, it's time you see Daddy again! That's what she's thinking! I'm not sure she's going to be all that happy to leave her Grandparents house. Where else but can you stay up late, eat junk food, and go to sleep with those nice people! Sorry Evan, but we loved having her and will miss her, but I think it's now time to get something done!

It's Me and The Girls!

I've had my granddaughters all week and I'm so ready for Friday to roll around. In case you missed it somewhere in my ramblings, one of them is Coco Channel, the English Bulldog. Don't get me wrong, she sweet and fun, and we love having her, but this Grandma is beat! Today Madelyn and I were alone with the dog. Barry had to work all day and that was another of those blessing, but now that Madelyn has gone home and Barry is out, Coco and Grannie and headed for a nap! It's only about 105 today and between shopping with Mad, taking Coco to Pets Mart, and out to lunch, I need a long nap!

I hope everyone was wondering if I've fallen off the cliff, well, I'm hear to say, NO! I'm still hanging on by my fingernails, but hanging on just the same! The last few weeks have been long and hard for me. I guess you might say I had a mini break down. I just haven't been able to do much of anything, and certainly not anything creative. I am trying to climb out of the hole and get myself going little by little. Friday we went to the lawyer to file the papers for bankruptcy and believe me if you've been there, it's a very hard thing to endure. We still have a long way to go on that matter, but it was a start.

I did end the week with good things. I have lunch with Evan on Thursday and lunch with Larry on Friday. Tonight I'm headed over to Larry's for dinner, so I'd say that counts for so much more then anything else! Barry is working until 8. I'll be bringing him leftovers home for his supper!

I guess that's it for me today. Please keep coming back. I hope to get something done soon!

So how do you climb out of the bottom? Believe me it's a question I keep asking myself. It seems to me that a black cloud hangs over my head no matter what I do. I've been on anti depressives for about 3 months and all I can see they do is instead of laying in bed for 20 hours a day, I'm up that long! I don't sleep as well anymore, but I don't cry as much either, so I guess that's a good thing! Today just seems like a really bad for me. I've applied for so many jobs and nothing. I don't sell enough on my site to make a dent, and Barry's two jobs don't do it either. After getting his social security last week and finally paying the rent, late, but paying, it's almost all gone. I have to pay the phone and electric and we need to eat and use gas in the car---but after that---nothing! Today something small happened and it pushed me over the edge. It may seem small, but when it happened, I felt lost. I put some underwear on that rolled down my tummy. Not only did I put the one pair on, but I tried several. I need to buy some new one's but can't. Can you how this might push someone over the edge? It just left me in tears today about the hopeless of it all. Nothing I do or try to do seems to work.
Oh well, I will try again tomorrow to make a go of it.

You might have wondered where I've been and I'm now about to tell you! No I didn't have any babies or anything so grand as that. I've been flat on my back in bed mostly with my hot water bottle for the better part of the last two weeks! It was kind of like a vacation, but only not so fun! I hurt my back several weeks ago and then last week it acted up again, but with a pain involved! I couldn't even sit at the computer. I did add a post or two, but those where standing! I hope I'm on the mend now, and so does Barry---in a big way!

I'm Back!

You might have noticed I've been away from blogging or anything to do with the computer for several days now. I think I said I'd hurt my back last time, but that was just an understatement! I pinched a nerve and I've been unable to sit up for very long since the beginning of last week! A trip to the clinic and some a nice hot water bottle have been helping, but I'm still on the mend. Sometimes when I get up from sitting, it takes my breath away because it hurts so bad! It seems like I've had a run of bad luck and I'm ready to break free!

I was able to put the finishing touches on this card today before I posted it in my Etsy store. I love the way it turned out. The image is from Sassy Cheryl's. It was a freebie for the number of members to her site. I printed 2 and cut the bear so he would be 3-D. The clothespin was from a friends box of goodies she sent me!

Speaking of friends, I hope we all have some, but today I wanted to thank a very special friend I have. I like to think of her as my own angel on my shoulder! I've known her for several years, but never met her in person. It seems like when I'm at one of my low, low points, she's there for me. I'm so thankful of her friendship. She is one very special lady! I really hope that each of you has a special friend like that.

Well, I'm off to watch the DVR. I've got so much loaded onto it and need to empty a little for some new shows this week. Barry is working again today. I think it's his 10th day straight. He's working tomorrow and Tuesday and then maybe he'll be off on Wednesday. The money will be a blessing when he gets it next week. All I can think of is making it until Wednesday when Barry gets his Social Security and we stock up the ole pantry!

Hey it's only 101 today---cool by any standards of heat in Texas in July! I thought maybe a nice holiday card would help ya with the heat! It does, doesn't it? I knew it would! Before you run and look in my Etsy store, it's not there. I made this last year for the holidays. Maybe I'll make some more, you know, just to cool off!
Life is pretty much the same at the Bloom Zoo. We had dinner at Larry's on the 4th, and Evan and Mandy showed up after dinner. They had just come back from visiting her parents in Houston. It's so nice to see my boys. Just because Larry is going to be 40 at the end of the summer, doesn't make him any less my "boy" then before!
I finally got one get well card made today. Barry is working all week at the newest of the part time jobs because the lady who he works for is ill. I got the one card made and that's it. I hurt my back over the weekend and it kills me to sit! I'm OK when standing or walking, just not sitting! My old body seems to be breaking down bit by bit!
Oh well, I'm off to try and figure out how to make a go of it until next Wednesday. I was able to pick up some food at Alberston's yesterday for the next few days. Now to make it last for another week. Barry gets his SS next Wednesday! It seems like a long time coming! I just keep praying for something to change. And I don't mean worse!

This One's Still Left!

I can't believe I finally made it to the morning! I was up half the night trying to figure a way to make until Friday! It seems like I'm trying what I can, and it's still not working! How much can I keep adding to my Etsy store without sales? Of course that was my question all through the night. What else can I sell! I know I'm like a broken record, but each and every time I try to dig out of this hole, it just closes in again! They say money is the root of all evil. I don't it that's true or not, but it's sure coming close! I started out with 5.19 yesterday. Then I had to buy bread and milk. I ended the day with 1.48! Oh well, I know we'll figure this eating thing out!
Coco is coming to visit on Friday for the holiday weekend. The kids are going to Houston to see Mandy's family. We love having the doggie come and visit. I do anyway. I know Barry does, but he pretends it's a chore to have her. I don't see him saying that when they are both curled up in bed sleeping in the early morning! She does give BIG wet kisses!
Today Barry is off from work, so I think we'll hit the pool for a nice swim. It's good for my knee, not to mention the waist! I had a lot of pain Monday night in the knee. Barry thinks maybe a spur was hitting a nerve. Whatever it was, it was painful!
Now I have to go and have my first cup of coffee. I may need more then one!

Some Goodies for Sale In My Store!

It's so darn early in the morning, but Barry had to be at work at 9 and drive in rush hour to get there, so here I am, not so bright and shinny! I have had one cup of coffee, but in need of some more for sure. I'm posting a few of the things in my Etsy store that need new homes. I know that money is tight with everyone, but I still am going to try and make a go of my little store. It's getting harder and harder and I have to admit, I'm not feeling good about it anymore, but at this point, I just keep pushing on! It's coming down to eating or putting gas in the car again this week. Payday isn't until Friday and can't make both work until the end of the week. I keep counting dinners in the freezer, and pray a lot! How can a country so big and wonderful as ours is, be like this??? It's a question I ask all the time and what is the answer. It can't be to forget about the poorest among us and any health or welfare they need, can it? There has to be answer and answer has to be just for all, not just the few! We pay taxes, and then more of my tax money is going to help gas companies---something smells in BIG BUSINESS!

Well, now that I've gotten my soap box item out of my system today, I still don't feel any better, and I still have the same problems of trying to figure out how to keep going this week, but at least it's sunny out and I have coffee left in the pot!
